Possible new Shrewd bug.
« on: November 10, 2016, 12:44:53 AM »
I don't want to just drop this in the sticky bug thread until I get some info and/or conformation about this.

Anyone having a problem with this aspiration reward? I got it several weeks ago real time so I assume it's been at least a week game time i've played since then. But I don't ever remember seeing any notice about this reward. Can someone tell me how it shows up? How obvious it is? And if there is a way to check game data and see what day it was awarded since from some other reading it seems like it is supposed to happen once a week on the day you were awarded the aspiration reward. Does it leave a message in the notification wall also?

The closest related thing I can think of is the reward store trait for Frugal, which I have definitely noticed working the last few times I have gotten bills.

Any help/ideas appreciated.

Thanks

I have a house of eight sims, five of whom have the Shrewd trait. They each get their "investment returns" weekly on the same day/time that they completed the Fab Wealthy aspiration.
We get a message specifying the sim's name and amount in the notification wall.

Regarding how to check game data, I have no idea how to do that.

Ok well that helps.....now that I know it does put a notification in there. I will start watching for it more carefully and see what happens.... :D

@Rangervegas --- The notification has a darker blue background than the rest of the messages on the wall.  You will see you family's income increase by that amount in the money area in the bottom left corner.

All of the adults in my main Sim family have maxed the income allowed per household in game, so we just get the messages.  You will continue to get investments even after you've selected a new aspiration for your Sim.

Wow really? I dident even know there was a max simoleons amount in the game. LOL Tells you how much money i've ever made. Although I suppose it makes sense since too much would probably cause some kind of data overload crash in the code somewhere, not to mention strange display issues.

@Rangervegas --- Yeah, that's why my screen name is coolsim9999999.  I started out with about §50,000 after a short time in the beginning.  Then, I found out about the fabulously wealthy aspiration, potions and traits from the rewards store, so my Sims could stay up and skill up --- and therefore, make more money.  Then, one of them maxed the tech guru career.  So, after I had those skills, all my adult Sims kept becoming start-up geniuses --- and making §499,999 each week per Sim because of the Fabulously wealthy aspiration, as well as maxing the tech guru career (§567/hour to start.  After Sims become a start-up genius, they can earn raises --- my best Sim ever makes over §1200/hour  So, I eventually made §9,999,999.  I made that much money before I knew any of the cheats.

@Rangervegas

Maxing the limit for household funds is not that difficult after playing a household for multiple generations.
But it does cause the problem you mention. After reaching $9,999,999, my game lags noticeably whenever a household member receives yet another investment payout from the Fabulous Wealthy aspiration.
It's probably against the rules of the legacy challenge I'm currently playing but...I use the money cheat to reduce household funds to $3 million every now and then.
I've previously tried using up the money by buying retail lots and more "stuff" but that only exacerbates the lag, lol.

By the way, did you ever get your payouts? And what happened with that salmon?  ;)

@oshizu --- It took about 20 generations before I got to that amount.  I started as a beginner player in September 2015, but now that I understand how to do it, I could get that much money with another family --- but I won't because I really want to keep playing my Sullivan family --- my original family from September 2015.  They're all geniuses and have maxed every skill.  Now, I have aging off --- or I would making quite a dent toward getting 100 generations.

I didn't know that having the max amount of money caused lag.  Thanks for the tip.

Well you'll be happy to know I finally noticed the interest payout. So I know that's working. And I found a fishing mod on mod the sims that can make fishing faster so I got everything now except a Piranha....Capt Fishbones, and one other I can't remember....so things are going better now.

Right now i'm trying to figure if it's something in my game that is still causing this "Take cutting/grafting" problem on any lot other than my home lot...some people were reporting the problem fixed but Crin asked on the original thread and some people are saying they still have the problem, me included. Someone from EA Asked for some savegames to look at so i'm in the process of starting a new household with no mods running in game to see if it still occurs. I may also try repairing game files to see if that helps also.

:D :D

@Rangervegas  It's not just you. It was broken and fixed in the past (way back), but started happening again after the second-to-last patch. To my knowledge, it has not been fixed.

Yea I figure this is why Crinrict and/or the Simguru who posted on the thread moved it to [To Test] status. And the sim guru is asking for savegames now. Hopefully since this is getting more attention now they may be able to squash it for good. Or at least for a few patches. LOL
