Remodeling?
« on: November 04, 2016, 02:41:35 PM »
Can you change/remodel an apartment to make it large enough for a multi-generational family?  Yes you can.  Here's some pics of VIII Landgraab I remodeled partially.  (wip)

In order to afford it, I moved the Landgraab  family in and then rented.

The second story had two spacious bedrooms originally.  Now it has five ensuite rooms.  These could remain bedrooms or become aura enhanced rooms for specific skills or jobs.

How about a garden?  Main floor with kitchen, powder room, dining area and lounge.

The Welcome Wagon came to call.

Skilling.

You'd best have a lot of income to be able to continue to afford this expensive rental, or better yet, buy one of the lots you can actually own.

Any other builders want to share?

Looks beautiful @Joria I've remodeled my sims little poor starter apartment and made a garden area too. No pics to share as it's very basic but I am really enjoying remodeling all the apartments. It was something I really enjoyed doing in TS3 actually, remodeling the houses and leaving the exterior walls intact. Especially the Bunch house in SV.

Well, now I'll have to visit the original residence so I can appreciate your remodeling even more.
I really like the spaciousness of the living/dining area as well as your semi-outdoor wraparound garden!

I always love remodeling houses but not changing the outside walls. And with Apartments I think I can't change the windows either. I've been playing the Bheeda family in the Spice District and have remodeled their apartment. A bit more cramped than Joria's Langraab place but still functional!

@Joria -- Great build!  I am having such a good time remodeling.  I was finished, but then, I decided to house some NPC's some of whom have children --- or they need an apartment with a specific number of bedrooms in their price range.

So, share, share, that's fair.  I want to see what you and others have done there!  Here is my Old Salt house remodel:

The exterior with third floor and roof top access:

The unfinished third floor:

Second story, Master bedroom suite:

Unfinished balcony:

Child's room: (This is partially deconstructed as the child aged up so a lot of things have been removed)

Change to Teen Room:

Main Floor Kitchen:  Not much done here, just added a trash can, upgraded appliances, added one more section of food bar and a small, backwards pointing juice bar.  I moved the dining area closer to the kitchen and changed the furnishings.  This gave me room for a small "office" area for my politician and a gaming table.

Lounge:

Main floor bedroom:

There is still a lot left to do with this house including possible basement and a lot of lanscaping.  I didn't get a shot of it but I changed the fence around the balcony to look more like a city fence/railing.  Like what's on the roof.

Really nice coolsim9999999!  I love all the frogs on the wall, they really make it a playful child's room.

Thanks a lot, Joria --- I found those after I had Backyard Stuff for a while.  I'm glad you like them/my rooms/apartment! :)

I have one more apartment creation.  This one is a full apartment.  It's a remodel of 1010 Alto Apartments --- 4 bedrooms, 4 bath (it was a 3 bath.)

These remodels all look great. I did one as well in the Spice Market, 20 Culpepper House. This apartment is originally a two bedroom/two bathroom place. I'm working on the 100 baby challenge and needed more bedrooms and bathrooms. It's now a four bedroom/three bathroom apartment. It's a bit cramped, but the rent is quite affordable.

Here it is...

Living room

Kitchen

Master bedroom

Girls' room

Boys' room

Nursery

Thanks, @lesleyj42 --- Your remodel looks so awesome!  Great job :).  I really like the rugs and the curtains, especially.  The children's rooms are so cute, too!

That's the chef's kitchen one which originally had that mother and adult son in it, right?
