Mud Bath Glitch?
« on: November 02, 2016, 12:44:28 AM »
Ok I searched all over the interwebs with Google and only found some old posts about this when the pack first came out and someone said it was fixed after a patch at that time and noone ever talked in that topic again.

I got Spa Day and the tub in my house is one of the high class ones and it got all the spa day options on it after I installed the pack. Problem is everytime I take a mud bath in it, all I ever get is a negative Mucky Mud moodlet. The bath works fine for the other Spa Day bath moodlets, but for some reason after taking about 8 mud baths I only ever get the negative moodlet from it.

I should note that i've placed the Maxis all around spa in my neighborhood but i've never visited it yet. I wouldent think you have to visit the spa to "activate" something in any case since the Soaks work fine. Also I have custom content in my game but nothing that affects the bath and in any case I took it all out and tried the bath again and still same result.

Anyone have any ideas on this one?

Thanks

Hi @Rangervegas Welcome to the forum.  :)
Depending on your sims traits they can either like or dislike the mud bath. It seems neat sims do not like it. Apart from that I think the negative moodlet is chance based per sim, a bit like how some sims like fruitcake and others don't.

Ok it seems strange but perhaps not so strange that a trait would keep a sim from getting a beneficial moodlet from Spa day especially considering how long lasting and unique that mood is. I tried it with another sim in the same household and get the same result but I believe both have the "Neat" trait. I will have to try removing that and see if it changes. I would think though the programmers would have been better served to allow for both moodlets on "neat" sims, since the negative one is relatively short lived and can be expunged fairly quickly with some type of cleaning actions after the mud bath.

I suppose this is another one of those things like Auras straight up not working or not working correctly when you are using cheats and have locked the needs decay of sims. I found out on my own about that one and it seems alot of people are confused about it since there are other bugs with the Auras where some items dont give any aura, or an incorrect amount or something.

In any case I will try removing the "Neat" trait first and see what and how much of an effect that has.

Thanks for the idea.

Glad I could help a little, just remember removing the trait often leaves the hidden elements of that trait so to test this you'd be better off creating a new sim without the neat trait in CAS.  :)

Nope I was good. I use a simple mod that adds and removes traits from sims in my game. And after removing the neat trait the very next mud bath I took I got the 12h +2 Confident moodlet. So that is indeed the issue. I wonder if Carl should put this in the guide under Spa day in the bath section since it seems alot of people are confused about what actually fixes this?

Thanks for the help.

Trouble is it technically isn't a bug. The devs have designed it this way... for neat sims to not particularly like getting all muddy. Makes sense really when you think about, in a sims way!

Yes, it does, Play!  I don't have any neat Sims.  However, I've found that most Sims don't mind taking a mud bath.  I have them take a regular bath right after to clean off the mud.
