Force Instrumental Opportunity
« on: December 01, 2010, 05:58:19 PM »
I've started a new sim named Max Skills, who is going to be the teacher in my Dynasty once he is finished. As his names tells: I want to master him in everything and only succeeded in guitar. Level 10 with all the opportunities fullfilled. Bass is also on level 10, but I had only 2 opportunities for Bass fullfilled. And the other half I got are guitar opportunities. This already seems to take forever, imagine when I want to max Drum and Piano also.

Is there a cheat or so available to force opportunities to come? Because this takes really too much time.

How do you plan for this Sim to be in your Dynasty?

I'm not aware of a way to force skill opportunities, but someone else might know of a way.

For now, he is in his on town untill he has max skilled everything. Than I am gonna simply dump him in the house of my Dynasty family. It already can take a while before oppertunities can popup, so I better let him somewhere where I can give him full attention. Shame on me if I accedently click away the wrong oppertunity.
I always work this way if I want to let my next generation mary. Although this sim is not going to be in the family three. He is more like a playable butler, but than a better version of it.

Do you not realize this is against the Dynasty rules?  You won't be able to go in the Hall of Fame if you have a special Sim like this in the household.

I think we have a miscommunication here. :) Dynasty is also another word for Multi-Generation family right? This is not a family for any challenge, just mine which I have started the first time I was playing The Sims 3. Haha, if I was going to use this in one of the Dynasty Challenges created by Metro I would already have broken all the possible rules, at least twice. :)
No, this is just my Multi-Generation Dynasty.

Ok, I see.  I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions.  I'm so used to "Dynasty" referring to our Immortal Dynasty challenge that I didn't stop to think otherwise.  Carry on!  :)

Yeah, I know. But thanks to the explanation you've told me in e-mail I see I also misused the word Dynasty according to the meaning on this forum.
If I play a challenge here I will not break any rule. You can count on that. I am a honest player Pam. ;)

I know it may be too late now..but I know that when I was waiting for a gardening challenge I only worked on gardening. It seems to help only doing one at a time until my goal was met. I know this might be too late for you tho. :-\

For me it is indeed, but for others maybe not. Your idea is the best in the legal way of playing the game as far as I know and although I'm already done with the whole instrument thingy, I didn't locked this topic because it could help and serve others who are willing to go the same way.
