Mystery invention - NO life core *Fixed!!*

Hello guys, I need a little help.

My sim is a level 10 inventing skill, has completed the master invention thingy, and recently (after 100 years of waiting), I got the opportunity for the mystery invention. I collected all the materials and brought them to Science facility. And then nothing. I read the forums that you are supposed to get the life core thing in your inventory. I didn't get it. I checked my sims inventory, household inventory, I even waited a few days, hoping it might come by mail, but nothing. I searched the forums, no one had this bug, people have a problem with not being able to create mystery invention after receiving the life core, but I don't have the life core.

I evicted my household yesterday, and moved it back to the house, I hoped that it could solve my problem, but no (it solved the other problem, the one with visitor sims not reacting). Still nothing.

Is there any way for my sim to get the mystery invention opportunity again, or is there anything else I could try? I would really like to be able to create the simbot. I hope you can help me.

Ps. I have all the expansions installed, latest patch, and my sim lives in the Isla Paradiso. She works as an astronaut(if that's relevant in any way). If you need any more information, I would be happy to provide it, just to be able to get the SimBot in my family.

I'm not entirely sure if this will help, but you could try going back to a previous save if you have one - from before the opportunity came up?

There is a lot of bugs associated with Ambitions that never got a true fix, unfortunately. This might be one of them.

No, I don't have any previous saves, especially because of the  NRAAS traveler mod, it saves wherever I go, which means at least 2-3 times a gameplay.

Is there any other way to obtain a life core - download it from the galery or as the custom content?

I don't know if the life core can be found else where. I jumped into game to see if I could find it in buydebug mode and wasn't able to.

The only other thing I can think of to try is to test a sim in a new game to see if you're able to the life core.

If you are in Bridgeport, the Mystery Invention doesn't happen due to the life core not appearing in the coding for that neighbourhood. It is written about on the sims wiki, and also here in Carl's somewhere,

I understand that moving to another neighbourhood doesn't  fix the issue.

I don't know if there is a mod to fix the issue or something like that, however I do believe the issue only occurs in Bridgeport, not in any other neighbourhoods.

Thanks @Deklitch for the tip!! I read about that, but wasn't sure if it would help as they are playing in IP.

However, I'm wondering if the bug could follow into the town your playing if you say like started out in Bridgeport... Trying out the mod may help. Or at least looking into it.

So this is what happened:
I played the game whole day today, made another sim to try and get the life core with her. Eventually, my original sim got the Opportunity for the mystery invention again, and when I completed it, I got the life core. I checked, she can make the mystery invention on the workbench, so everything is fine now.

To conclude, if you experienced a bag, where after completing the opportunity chain for the mystery invention(delivering all 4 items to the science centre) you didn't recieve the life core, chances are you clicked cancel on the last part of the chain which says create mystery invention. I kow assume that's what happened, although, I am pretty sure it didn't because I always carefully read everything(almost everything) in the game. If you haven't gotten the life core, just be patient and wait for the opportunity again. There should be 5 challenges, last one saying you should create the mystery invention.

Even though I played in Isla Paradiso, and didn't recieve the life core, I tried solving my problem with the workbench mod(first thing I actually tried a couple of days ago). So if you got the life core but can't create the mystery invention, try the mod @MrsFlynn suggested(posting the link again http://modthesims.info/d/437402 ).
