Ghosts?
« on: November 29, 2010, 03:40:45 PM »
One of my sims just died by drowning and she pleaded with grim and all and to my surprise she was playable as a ghost straight away. When I looked at a unusual moodlets description it said she had five days until she actually dies and during that time I could give her ambrosia or use Divine Intervention to bring her back to life. Has anyone else noticed this?

I haven't had any sims die yet, thank goodness, so I don't really know much about ghosts. I have read that you can use the Divine Intervention to bring her back on one of the loading screens. Maybe after the five days you no longer have that option?

Sorry I couldn't be much help.

I read that's how the deaths work, although none of mine have died yet. If you go visit the Mausoleum , you can talk to some ghosts outside. They're all in a pretty good mood despite being dead.

Before she died I presumed they just turned into a grave and started haunting like on the pc and you could just use divine intervention whenever you saw them. I wonder if you could keep them alive by using the moodlet manager to get rid of the moodlet, I'll check tomorrow.

You have 3 days I think before your sim automatically goes to the underworld and the cease to exist.  You basically have that allotted time to do what you can to bring them back to life by either making ambrosia, or using the divine intervention power.  They will come back to life by either of those methods.  It's neat to use once but it gets old after.  You can also harvest a death flower from one of the cemetaries, can't remember which, and when your sim dies the ghost will give it to the grim reaper and the grim reaper will spare your life.

Can you stop them from going to the underworld by disabling ageing? Just curious.

I don't know that one sorry.  I think you would have to do that beforehand, like not during the time when your sim is a ghost.  If you set the age to never age then they won't age as far as I know.  They will stay the same age as you created them and never die.
