How often do alien abductions take place

I was thinking about getting Get to Work while it's still on a great sale. 
The pack looks so cool.

However, I don't want my Sims to get abducted and/or killed or impregnated by an alien.  I also don't want my main household's 3 married couples to get angry at each other for being impregnated by an alien  I read about placing a satilite and turning it on each day to prevent abductions. 

Does the satilite work well?  Can you get abducted in Granite falls because you can't place stuff on the cabin lots --- except in Granite Falls National forest? 

I have one more question, is there any way or any cheat to allow players to identify aliens who are wearing disguises (so they look like normal sims (if not can they still abduct/hurt/kill your Sims.

The rate of alien abduction and pregnancy from abduction is so low that even when actively trying it can take a simmer up to 5 weeks to get it to happen.
The satellite works well and will prevent abductions 100% of the time when actively using it.
You'll be able to identify disguised aliens easily as when they are in any 'very' emotional state they glow. So a very happy alien in disguise will glow green for example.

Thanks Playalot.  I am having a great time with GTW.  My Sims are running a thriving bakery in addition to their start-up genius career.  I put in a police station, hospital and a space museum (my favorite handy Sim from my main family built a spaceship there, and she went to Sixam after the wormhole was installed.)

Sixam is soooo beautiful, and I found out that the aliens are nice if you're nice to them --- just like most Sims.  I can't believe I was so worried about getting this pack. 

I started playing TS4 in September 2014, and now, I have all the packs --- except Spooky Stuff (I don't like anything spooky) and Romantic Garden Stuff (because of the bad outcomes of the wishing well that I've heard about).

How do I find the buildable lot on Sixam?

I used  bb.enablefreebuild to build small houses in the Forgotten Grotto, Sylvan Glade and Sixam.  My Sixam house is a super party place.
