A glitch?
« on: November 29, 2010, 02:00:48 PM »
I've noticed a really strange glitch today... My female sim got an opportunity in witch she had to see a movie or something in the movie theatre. After completing it she stayed there for a bit, because I was busy with other family members. Then the glitch (or w/e it is) happened: all other sims from all over the neighborhood started arriving at the theater, but no-one left... I didn't notice it till the area got 'a bit' crowded:

The bad part is that I can't invite any of those sims to my home or somewhere else, they won't leave the place... And the performance of the game also started getting worse after this happened, the game started using more CPU. Any suggestion how can I fix this?

Update: I've tried entering the edit town mode and editing the movie theater (I didn't change anything, just entered the build/buy mode) and it restored sims to their homes. But They kept going back to the theater even after that! They just stand there and do nothing... Not even communicate with each other. Even if some sim cries for food it still stays there... I've noticed that if one random sim leaves, some other arrives immediately. Plus others are arriving too... So the number of sims there just gets bigger and bigger.

And it actually looks kinda funny... All the sims start crying for food or vomiting (where did that come from??), others faint from exhaustion, everyone scream at each other and vampires burn in daylight... It's like a mass suicide, lol:

Have you tried resetting every individual Sim. I had to do that recently when about twenty Sims all decided to stand outside my front door when I had a party. I only had to reset the ones that were right next to the door and then they could all move. It was bedlam for a while as different Sims had toilet accidents and collapsed from exhaustion.

Oh, didn't think of that... I'll try it.

Update: It didn't work, all of them came back immediately, except some of them started actually doing something: some chatted and others started playing instruments...

And btw, for a few seconds while there were no-one near the theater the game worked just fine (used less CPU)

Since I had a fiancée in that pile of sims and I didn't want him to die or smth after a bunch of tries I managed to invite him to my house and married him. And the weird thing was that he actually got a random action and went off to the theater...

What a strange story.  The screenshots are fantastic.  Is this in Bridgeport?

Yes it is. And I can't understand why do they keep vomiting for no reason... I even start to feel sorry for those little sims, lol

And I REALLY want to fix this, cause I spent like a week of playing to have my family as it is right now. And the thought of reinstalling the game just gives me shivers...

Maybe the smell of all those unwashed Sims is making some of them sick.
I am starting to feel sorry for them too and it isn't even my game.

I just finished reading a similar report in the Technical problems section, the thread about choppy game play.  Someone there is also having problems getting sims to go home, and that's in Bridgeport as well.

The same thing is happening in my LN games also.  First game Sims congregated at Eugi's, I started new game now it's happening at Banzai Club/Lounge -
I also reset all the sims, deleted the buildings and lots. I changed the empty lot to No Visitors, and the still went there.
Theres a thread describing it all in Technical Help by Sara, Choppy/Pausing.

I had a glitch somewhat related to funny things simmies do in public.

I'm currently playing in Sunset Valley, and I installed The Grind there. Worked fine first time my Alexa went there, but now when anyone goes, they're the only ones inside. The townies show up, walk up to the door, then leave.

I wound up deleting The Grind, I kept getting the call to go dance there.

Well, the latest patch didn't fix this problem but it sure helped those poor sims with vomiting problems, lol:

Fixed a tuning issue so that Sims now vomit at acceptable levels.

Sims flash-mobs are kind of interesting, though. =)
