Worlds Will Not Install *Fixed!!*

Hi, I just bought Hidden Springs/Monte Vista world pack and tried to install them. However, they will not install. It goes straight from "I accept the EULA" to Install w/o bringing up the key code window. Of course w/o the key code, there is no installation. Does anybody know what to do? I think I had this happen once before, but don't remember what I did. : /

From what I understand it can be tricky to install store worlds, specially when purchased as a bundle pack.

I did find the link below that helps explain what to do when trying to install worlds bought in a bundle pack.

Thanks! However, I bought the disks and so going to EA's site wouldn't work. I know she said that "It does not matter how you bought the world, this is how you can re-download it," but there is no place to just download it w/o purchasing it. Since I already bought it, I wouldn't need to buy again.

So I did some more searching. It sounds like what's happening is that the code for the bundle needs to be redeemed so it can be added to your Sims3.com account and then downloaded and installed.

If this is the case. Here's what you do:

To redeem this bundle

1. Log into the store, Click your username, and select My Store Account - https://store.thesims3.com/myAccount.html

2. Click the green + sign at the right of Redeem a Code (right side of screen)

3. Enter the code and Click Redeem.

-- It should now be added to your Purchase History page and be available for download.

4. Check either your purchase history page for the worlds or go to their pages to download and install.

I tried to follow Crinrict's guide,but it is out of date, the links are broken (purchase history). I successfully installed one world, but cannot get it. She said that it will credit sim points to you and then you're supposed to download it and that the "price" would be the same as what they credited you with. I didn't find that to be true. It credited me w/only 500 points for Hidden Springs, but the world costs 2000 points in the store! In essence, I would have to buy more points in addition to having bought the disk! I'm not sure why they made this whole thing sooooo complicated! When I tried to redeem Monte Vista according to the directions, I got the msg that it (the code) had already been used. Well, yes! I want to re-install it, but I need to enter the key code to re-install it. So now I'm up against a wall. Maybe I'm just not understanding it correctly. : /

You've already redeemed MonteVista. That is why it's giving the message code has already been used. To download MV Login to the Sims3.com store, go to your purchase history page or it's store page and download it into your game.

You will need to contact EA's customer service (How-To Link Here) to see if they can help with getting Hidden Springs. You may need proof of purchase or another way to show you own the disc. But once that's done they should be able to fix that for you. :)

Note: Key codes for the worlds, store content and game are stored in the Windows registry. So, that's why it is skipping the game code entry when you're installing any of the above - it uses those keys even though you may be installing it from disc.

Ok, I guess I was pretty blind on MV! However now, I'm having the same problem w/HS. I get the same msg (b/c I redeemed it earlier), but I cannot d/l it. It *still* prompts me to buy it! Any suggestions?

Let me see if I'm with you so far. You've got MV downloaded, installed. All is good there. Yes? If so Yay!!! :)

You have HS redeemed, but can't download. Have you tried running running CCleaner and it's registry cleaner. --  Howto Use Ccleaner Then trying it again?

It might also be a good idea to clear Internet Explorer's cache too. As the launcher uses parts of it to do it's thing. How-To Clear IE's Cache

I just did a test-download to see if it would work. I went to the store's website and downloaded it from there. It seems to be working for me. Hopefully that worked for you?

Here's the steps I took:

1. Log in to the store - http://store.thesims3.com
2. Go to the Store tab > Store Content > Worlds page

3. Find and click on HiddenSprings - http://store.thesims3.com/hiddenSprings.html
4. Have your launcher open to receive HS.
5. Click the Download button - a popup should appear, click okay, and it should then popup the launcher and start downloading.
6. Click the downloads tab in the launcher, find and select HS and install it.

I went over to EA again today and did eventually find my purchase history. However, HS is NOT there at all in spite of the fact that I entered the code and it was accepted. MV is there, but not HS. Now what? I asked over in the forum there and will wait to see if I get a response. I took your suggestion and cleared both IE and Chrome cache files. HS is still not in my purchase history. :(

Unfortunately, I can't go to an EA live chat. My comp seems to block it b/c it will hang forever and ever. I cant log into Amazon either b/c my comp blocks it, but that's whole 'nother story, lol. :(

Shoot, I was *really* hoping that would work for you. With HS not showing up in your purchase history I think the best you can do is contact EA to see what they can do to help. As I can't troubleshoot actual missing purchases. :( That's more of an account issue. Please do let me know what you find out though?

Have you tried resetting your browser?

I've had to reset Firefox a time or two. Seems to help it behave better.

When we need to contact EA's CS we have to use IE. As it doesn't seem to like Firefox these days.

Unfortunately, I can't go to an EA live chat. My comp seems to block it b/c it will hang forever and ever. I cant log into Amazon either b/c my comp blocks it, but that's whole 'nother story, lol. :(

By any chance does HS show up in the Downloads Dashboard?

If it does, try installing it from there. If not, take note of the item # and date of purchase. This will be helpful information to give to an EA CS rep.

From what I've been seeing it may take a bit to get a rep to understand the issue. But hopefully with proof of purchase it should be easier to get a fix for it.

I looked in the Downloads Dashboard and it's not there either. Thanks anyway! I just spent 2 hrs w/EA and they had me change my email login, pw, secret question, sent a scanned pic of the game disk and booklet to them and talked to supervisor even, then they just ended the chat w/o any warning or anything and they STILL did not add HS to my acct! I'm about fit to be tied right now! I looked at the time over in India and came to the conclusion that it was probably the shift change. I'd like to have the head examined of whoever's hair brained idea it was to not put anything on the HS disk!

I'm sorry trying to talk to an EA rep wasn't successful. I have read people having to try a few different times to get them to understand and fix the problem.

It's always a good idea to change account info after you talk with them. Due to them having to get into your account.
