Says please insert disc but disc is in?

I've been playing the sims for over a year no problems. It let's me play and it goes through It's loading screen. When I go to choose my family it says insert disc! (pic) ! The disc is in though! I've tried everything I can think of, re installing, quitting and trying again.

There is no mention what operating system is being used. However, this could happen for several different reasons to both PC and Mac.

It is common for Mac computers to have this error.

It is recommended to fully uninstall the disc version. Download and install the Origin version. No need to repurchase the expansions/stuff packs. Simply redeem the product/game codes in Origin and the games will be available to download and install.
