Your tiny lot houses?
« on: July 23, 2016, 07:16:25 AM »
I'm wondering if any other folk spend much time with the 15x20 lots? I'd be hugely interested to see any. My first Sims 4 house was Nookstone - I guess that's the same for many, and instead of moving, gave it a lick of paint and a second floor and it's probably the lot I've used the most. It's easy to expand the existing house there in sensible ways.

Also, I'm conscious of spamming my (few and basic) houses. I can see my user name as the most recent post on too many threads here. It makes me seem over-eager. Seriously, I just decorate boxes, because they're efficient. There must be other cool dynasty houses. And the newest builder can recreate any of these.

So here is my collection of Nookstone builds. (I've also used one of the tiny lots in Newcrest, but that house isn't well balanced, most of the house is underground. No one - not even me - extends the house above ground right into every corner, it would look dumb, but underground it makes sense to use every inch.) This is really a back catalogue. I was browsing through my screenshots folder. Some are redesigns of the same house - so that mini chateau doesn't exist any more, nor does the red brick one.

(My richest sim household, with many millions of simoleons lives here. No need to move.)

This was built for the skill challenge last year. And that means rocket science. I remember wondering what other houses looked like.

If nothing else, I hope someone out there finds them useful, but I also want to see other tiny lot houses. :) All of these have basements, indoor pools, saunas, gyms - they aren't missing much. If you start in a small house, you don't have to move out. Okay, the big movie screen would be a problem I guess. But aside from that! And jungle gyms of course. But aside from those, two big things! And telescopes. So like, three things?! Whatever. They're nice okay. Lets not split hairs about if there is space for a "bathroom" or a "dining room".

I was quite hooked on tiny houses for a while. I kept building smaller and smaller! The smallest fully functional starter home I got to was really tiny lol. 16 squares I think from memory.  It looks a little strange though as even the tiniest lot still looks gigantic with it placed on it.

I love the idea of tiny houses.  I am notoriously horrid at building, but I hope to play around with it some this week.  I wonder if the smaller home will save time in the long run since sims seem to spend quite a lot of time running around in the larger houses I toyed with.

That's a big plus. The sims can get from the basement to the roof in very little time. It can be very efficient. This is the second floor of my latest one. There are dancefloors on the roof that act as skylights for the central hallway / passage.

All of these tiny homes are so cool  8)!  Here's mine.  It is called Jobless Sim Home (Crick Cabana 20x15 lot).  However, it's in the gallery on a 30x20 lot in Newcrest (the Cookout Lookout lot, I think).  It has many ways that a jobless Sim can make money and build up their resume!

That is a rare fishing pond.

I actually prefer building on the tiny lots. I miss the 10x10 lots on TS3 because they were such a fun challenge. I don't have any pictures on hand, but I always upload them to the gallery!

@marwolfer --- There are some 10x15 lots in TS4, such as, the Forgotten Grotto and Sylvan Glade.  All you have to do to build on those lots is enter the cheat

I really love those tiny houses! I prefer small houses over big ones, because I think they look nicer and more cosy :-) also it can be a bit more challenging. I really like the colours of the one with the rocket on top. I usually go for a 20 x 30 lot though.

I've got this tiny pavilion that I made as a replacement for the standard layout of the Sylvan Grove. It's a 10x15 plot, but there's still a good sized pool.

I am tempted to do this for a Rosebud challenge. Keep spending my simoleons to make a grander home, but only on a tiny lot!

I went back to the first house and thought I'd share some more pictures of it, again to show that a 20x15 lot is enough to fit quite a lot of stuff in. The only dancefloor is now in the deepest basement level, with a sauna, and karaoke, and we've got a basketball hoop on the roof. You can see the writing / painting / piano room, the gym, and a few other bits. The household has many more millions of simoleans than they can spend, so the rooftop garden isn't stacked with alien plants, but we've got every type of herbalism plant, plus carrots and strawberries. Because babies. I forget myself. I must speak simlish. Nooboos. Right.

That's Lana Goth. She's just visiting. In keeping the Goth name alive, you gotta dress the women a bit like Bella. :) The dress style might change, but it's always red and with that hair.

Wow!  You really can fit a wicked lot of stuff on a tiny lot!  You're great little house is certainly proof of that :).

I love tiny houses. I'm a big fan of the concept in real life, too. I almost never watch TV, so when I flicked it off cricket to find something else the other day (hubby watches it, not me!), I found the show "Tiny House Hunters". I loved it!
