Sims 3 stuck updating patch 1.69

I tried updating my sims 3 game to the newest version (1.69) and when I tried to update it it was just stuck at 100%. It says 6,973.14 MB out of 6,974.89 MB has been downloaded but does nothing after that. I left it on overnight, still nothing. Reinstalled Origin and everything, still nothing. So I figured whatever, I could still play my game so I did, This was months ago. Now today I purchased a stuff pack for The Sims 3, and like a dummy I forgot I had to have my game updated in order to download it. Now I'm back to the problem where it's always stuck. I've tried googling this and found nothing. Tried looking for a manual way to install the patch, but nothing. I'm at a dead end here. I really don't want to have wasted my money, if anyone has any tips or suggestions I'd be forever grateful.

If you've already tried everything on the tips page linked below (which sounds like you have), the only other thing that can be suggested is to contact EA's customer support to see if there's something on their end of your account that needs to be tweaked.

Yeah I tried all of that. Looks like I'm going to have to contact EA -_- Thanks anyway though.
