If your offspring roll one of the two Family Aspirations, then roll again because Family Aspirations will not be able to be completed. You may also roll again if you get the Leader of the Pack aspiration.

The site linked for randomization has the option of unchecking any of the aspirations, causing them not to be included in the aspirations that can be "rolled".  Would it be better to just leave out the two Family Aspirations and the Leader of the Pack aspirations since the re-rolling causes the traits to be re-rolled as well?

Also, the site includes the Grilled Cheese Aspiration - should that one be included when you roll for randomization given that you can't start with it?

Thanks!

Good idea!

@MarianT
Would you please clarify your response?  What specifically does "Good idea!" refer to? Unchecking the two Family aspirations and the Grilled Cheese aspiration as well?

Correct. She was agreeing with GlazeyLady's suggestion that players should do just that.

I got especially confused about the Grilled Cheese aspiration because I wasn't sure whether including it or excluding it was a good idea.
Thank you very much for the clarification!

Out of curiosity, is hiring a nanny still banned? I saw it was banned because of the immortality bug, but I think that bug was fixed in the last patch.

Finished with 30 YA moved out and 2 child remaining in household.
30 x 5 = 150
2 x 1 = 2

Total = 152

Can we choose the traits and aspirations of our starting (parent) sims or do we need to randomize them as well?

You can choose the traits and aspirations for your parents.

Finished with 15 YA moved out and 5 YA still at home.  15 * 5 = 75; 3 * 5 = 15, giving a total  of 90.

11 YA moved out, 3 YA still at home and 2 children. 55 + 9 + 2 = 66.

Effective immediately —

  • No contact with Jasmine Holiday — no visits and no calling her.

So, why this weird rule? There's a temporary skill and career buff that triples the normal gain rate if you have contact with Jasmine. So, she is off limits given we already have players the have turned in scores before this buff became effective.

Maybe I'm just unlucky with the randomization, but this challenge is certainly more challenging than the one from last year  (but still a lot of fun)
