Maybe I'm just unlucky with the randomization, but this challenge is certainly more challenging than the one from last year  (but still a lot of fun)

Dear Challenge Team,

In my practice file, Jasmine Holiday showed up with the Welcome Wagon group, which my sims couple ignored. But I can still see Jasmine hanging out in front of the house.
Are my sims "legal" as long as they avoid initiating a conversation with Jasmine?

I am assuming if no contact is made, then you will not get the boost from her, so you should be fine.

Thank you, Metro.
Unbelievably, Jasmine has remained standing in front of the house whenever the family is home for the past six real-life hours.

One of the children got Dance Machine as a random trait. It is not in the list when you choose a trait for a child. Did I missed it or is it considered "unlucky for you/tough luck" for this challenge?

I played a different file for a while to see how the Jasmine boost works - you do have to ask her for a boost and then you choose whether you want it for skill or job.  So you can't get it accidentally.

@GlazeyLady
Thank you for letting me know. I haven't tried that Triple Boost perk and it's made me so nervous, seeing her in front of the house all the time.

One of the children got Dance Machine as a random trait. It is not in the list when you choose a trait for a child. Did I missed it or is it considered "unlucky for you/tough luck" for this challenge?

There are several traits that can't be given to children:
Romantic
Foodie
Ambitious (Ha - they can be lazy but not ambitious)
Childish - maybe because they're all childish as children?
Clumsy
Dance Machine - maybe due to animation issues?
Materialistic
Snob
Bro
Family-Oriented
Hates Children
Jealous - apparently they are just jealous by nature or not - hence all the 'met sibling' sadness and anger
Non-committal

The randomizer doesn't account for traits that children can't have.  But I guess you could either re-roll or un-check the boxes for those traits when rolling for a child.

I roll for Child, Teen and Young Adult all at the same time. That way if I get Dance Machine for a child, I can use one of the other traits instead and pick up Dance Machine as a teen. If none of the traits are available for a child, or if you only did the child, then go back and get a different trait. The Child section of the Randomizer does eliminate most of the traits that a child can't get but they missed Dance Machine.

I have no cooking clue how y'all have done this! I'm over halfway done and I've only moved out ONE YA so far! I guess I should have gone and read up on the strategies from years past O_O

I think I've been under a rock, how is Jasmine still in the game? Didn't they remove her after Easter?!?

Jasmine is back for one week bestowing skill and job boosts.  Your sim can ask her for a boost and then choose a skill boost or a job boost.  The boost substantially increases how quickly your sim increases in skill or increases job performance for promotions.  Job works for school for kids and teens.  But, alas, our sims are not allowed to talk to Jasmine in this challenge.  I just had to see what she was all about though, so I played another file and now I'm hoping that I didn't spend too much time on that to complete this in time. After playing with the boosts, it seems like it takes forever to gain skill without it.  :-)

I hope this is EA priming us for something coming and not EA giving us something way cool for one week and then taking it away forever.

I am really interested in hearing how others end up with such high score. This was a lot more challenging that I anticipated! Still, it was a lot of fun.

YA moved out: 4 x 5 = 20

Teens at home: 6 x 2 = 12

Total Score: 32

@oshizu recently asked the team when exactly weeks were considered to start so as to know when to adopt. My reply was 8am on Sundays given that is when files begin and that is when we are having everyone finish their file. @Nutella read my reply to @oshizu and informed the team she wanted to disqualify herself since she played as if weeks began Sundays at midnight. Not every team member voiced their opinion, but the couple that were online (me and Lena) said that a disqualification was unnecessary since all that happened was two extra children were adopted that last week and those can be easily removed from the score.

So, that is what I will do, and if anyone else has interpreted weeks as beginning at midnight, then let a team member know so we can adjust your score accordingly. Weeks begin at 8am Sunday.

Thanks.

I'm new to this forum. I've been playing TS4 for about six months now and was looking for some new challenges to tackle with my sims. This one was a crazy place to start, but I had a good time (even though I had three Outdoor Enthusiasts). I ended up with:

YA moved out: 9x5 = 45
YA at home: 3x3 = 9
Teen: 2x2 = 4

Total: 58

Looking forward to seeing how you guys did it!
