Chinese vases?

Does anybody now exactly where all the vases are? Or do they just spawn randomly? Because I've completed all the tombs and only found one!

Are you trying to complete a particular collection?  Quite often vases and other items can be found at the Relics Store.

I have found some through tomb exploration and some I have bought at the relic store.  I have done the tombs a few times on diffrent sims in seperate games and they seem to have a random placement.  Just keep checking the store if you have explored all tombs during a visit.

I'm afraid they spawn randomly.
When you say you've explored all tombs, do you mean all tombs in all countries? Or just all in China? Because they appear in all 3 countries. If you're not sure whether you've explored absolutely all tombs, check the list of tombs (or tomb trophies) on the country guides on carl's guide.
Also, I think that they might respawn if you go through tombs again. The traps will be fixed because you did it before, but I think treasure chests and coins will respawn. Does anyone know if I'm right about that?

Really?  You can get Chinese vases in Egypt and France?  The ones from the Chinese Vase collection?

I thought they only spawned in China.  That is good to know.  What I meant was during a vacation visit to china <say 11 days> if you have explored all the tombs in china and cleared them and you are still missing a Vase, unless you leave and come back to reset the tombs, the only place I knew of was to check the store every day for the rest of your stay.  It is how I finished one of my vase collections when I only needed one.  Took a few days but I was able to snag it before my trip was over.  Thanks for the info.

Well I could be wrong about the vases in all countries, but that's what I thought happens... don't quote me on it.

I've gone on a lot of vacations with my Sims, but never once have I seen a Chinese Vase anywhere else but in China.

I believe relics like the Chinese Vases respawn in tombs after a certain amount of time. Not tomb-specific relics (Symbols, Signets & Sigils) but "normal" relic collections. Managed to snag up masses of duplicates of for example the Dropastones and Dangerous creatures collections to sell off for good money. You can also try to dig up excavations (not sure if the excavation bug is completely fixed now? Haven't been able to play my game for over a month now...), but I've had much better luck doing what you did, checking with the relic merchant.

I don't believe the excavation bug is fixed yet.  However, if the excavation site is on a lot, it can be done.

I confirm that ... excavate only works if on a lot.

Yesterday we managed to find the second one of the Dangerous Creatures in Egypt [during a re-explore of a pyramid that had re-spawned contents].  Curiously, the discovery didn't show up on the little message bar [the top-right pop-out].

Also, while using the Collection Helper to find some metals, one of the highlights was underneath a landscape rock!  I wonder whether some layers of the WA game have become mis-aligned?

I have found spawns of metals under rocks, too. In Egypt, a Mummitomium spawn sometimes appear inside the decorative mine and you have to carefully fix the camera angle to be able to see the metal and click it to pick it up. The Sim can still collect the metal, it just sometimes becomes difficult for the player to see it.
Sad to know that the excavation bug isn't fixed yet. That bug was majorly annoying, digging up stuff out in the wild was part of the fun with adventuring and vacationing for me. With the Horus Tear, you could really make a living out of it and complete relic collections without having to go through tombs. In any case, I digress, hopefully everyone seeking to complete the Chinese Vases collection have found the information in this thread useful.

That was the location I was collecting. I know about the mummitomium that's just inside the mine, behind the wood planks.  This one was underneath the big rock to the right of the entrance [as you look at the mine] but no amount of view angle fiddling would let me click "collect".
