Force queue to clear?
« on: July 07, 2016, 02:32:22 AM »
So, today I learned the dangers of having cheats enabled when I accidentally clicked "Trigger Age Transition" for my toddler. My game is paused and the toddler was already doing something else, so the birthday action didn't start yet, but I can't remove it from the queue, and I hadn't saved in several sim days. Is there any other way to clear the queue, or am I going to have to sit through the birthday and use CAS to change him back to a toddler? Thank you in advance!

In my sims3 experience, I think there are no way to clear that queue. Some actions queue can't be cancelled like birthdays and death. I had one of my elder sim die prematurely due to that incident.

P.S. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum.   Have you tried resetSim? If you haven't, it's resetSim Firstname Lastname.  Just put in the toddler's name and that should help.

Curiously, what cheat were you trying to use that you hit this?  There might be a better way is all I'm saying.

Quit the game without saving.
If ever you saved once during or after the accident, go to your saves folder, delete your latest save (something.sims3), rename your previous save (something.sims3.backup) by deleting the .backup in the title. Reload your game. Your toddler should be safe.
If ever you saved more than once during or after the accident, and you don't have any backup, I'm afraid that there is no way to get your toddler back. Changing a sim's age back to toddler in CaS is glitchy in my experience, you may end up with a monster sim, don't do it.

Actually, I accidentally hit it when I was trying to change his outfit without realizing I was holding down the shift key :P. I had already used the CAS to change him back, and I got the stretchy toddler glitch when he used the potty, but then I used resetSim and all seems well now. Thanks everyone!
