How to fix stuck sims on Ps3?
« on: November 27, 2010, 07:55:38 AM »
Is there any way to reset them without losing all their progress? My sim is stuck in bed and is slowly wetting themselves to death.  :-[

If there's a way to open the cheat console, you can try "resetsim firstname lastname" like on the PC version.

No cheat console on console. I've had the same problem.

If you quit and save there, when you start over they will be unstuck.  At least, that worked when I did it, last night.  :)

Good idea! I tried saving and she's still stuck. No cheat codes for the PS3 either. I can't even delete the bed in Buy Mode cause she's using it. She needs to die. Has anyone tried to kill their stuck sim or will she just die eventually for low needs?

I had thought saving and restarting would have fixed it but mine froze in the middle of a karma power so I couldn't save. You could probably kill them with fire though and they might die themselves.

Had the same problem, trying to use a karma in a park, my sim ended up on water, couldn't move him out, had to reload my previous save, which was 1 week (ingame) old... Save often.

Kay the stuck in bed thing seems to be a frequent one in the Xbox version as well so I'll write down how I escaped from my deathbed.

There is a reset function in the Sims 3 console version.  What I had to do was hold down LT whilst clicking the mailbox on my family lot. An option to reset a sim popped up and when I did my character was out of his bed.

I then of course sold the defective bed and bought another one of a different type and placed in a different place from where I had originally placed it and everything was fine afterward.

so all you have to do is follow what I did, only holding down the L2 buttons or whatever it  is you guys have on the Playstation and it should work.

Don't worry, the reset will not do anything to damage achievements or lifetime rewards your sims have. It was placed there to help people who have encountered a glitch in their game.

There is also another way to fix this glitch and that is by moving over to view another lot in a different part of the town. Doing so will make you character escape the bed while they are keeping to the status quo. This method should also help other people how are trapped like evil potato although it won't work if there is some kind of disturbance happening where you are... like if you're in the middle of an earthquake or there's a fire. but just wait for them to pass and afterwards it should be fine.

Just make sure you delete the bed afterwards.

I've since deleted the game with my stuck sim, but I wish I didn't now! I will have to your method if one of my others get stuck. Thanks!

The same thing happened to me, but in my front yard. I accidentally put a karma-power on one of the Sims. The Sims aren't part of my household so I don't know what to do. Any help would be nice. Oh, and I won't let me save when a karma-power is active on PS3. Help me please. ???

What Karma power is it that's active? I know at least that the mood drain thing and the epic fail work on other people, after which you can save.

You are correct about the L2 button for PS3. Just hover over the mail box and hold L2 then press X and the 'Reset Sim' option will appear. You can do this at any time and it will reset your sim and make them reappear away from the area they were stuck at. Same goes for babies/toddlers stuck in cribs.

**I have looked at people's comments and advice to unstuck your sim, none of them have worked for me. But I found out if you move out of your house, then move back in, your sim is free to move with all your furniture still in your house exactly as it was. Hope this helps**
