[BUG] Sims Come Home From Work When Reloading Save Game

I just loaded up a save game of my dynasty after saving just after two of my sims went to work. They both immediately came home from work and only earned about 30 simoleons. I cannot figure out how to make them return to work and they really needed that promotion they were about to get. Is this a known bug (I googled it and nothing showed)? Is there a known fix or anything I can do to make them go back to work? Thanks for any advice you can offer.

This is a known bug.  If you find you have this bug, please go over to answer.ea.com using the link below and on the first post you should see a Me Too button under it. Click it to help show that others are having similar issues and hopefully that should help get it some attention.

Unfortunately I haven't got any more suggestions than @KTK10 made but this can also be caused by using the dresser or wardrobe too (I think) to 'plan outfits' which has caught me out a few times and forced my at-work sims to come home and take a career penalty. I don't ever save and quit now unless all my sims are at home and I don't use CAS if anyone is at work or school.

It becomes a little more tricky to manage if you are a rotational player as you'd need to keep good notes on work times for all your households and make sure you don't swap during them. Ouch!

Hi Jamie, this has been happening for some of us for quite some time. I don't know of a work around yet (if there is one.. you have come to the right forum to find it!) But currently just make sure that you exit the game when everyone is playable.. ie: no-one is at school or at work. There isn't a way to force them to go back to work either.. sorry..

I've had this happen to me sometimes. It's very annoying. Apparently more people have this problem. I don't know how to fix it but maybe if it isn't a known bug, you can let EA know via their forum for bug reports. When people click 'me too' they should become aware of the problem. Hope it is fixed for you soon
