Oh wow, what an attractive group this generation is!
Donette has really nice facial features, head shape, and jawline--she could pull off any hairstyle you throw at her, in my opinion.

The girls' bedroom looks wacky and Donte's ankles look downright scary.
Just one teaser image of the aged-up Knave in his rockstar hair?
Looking forward to getting to knew these kids more!

Back home and all caught up. Have you decided on a new town yet? My only recommendation is one with limited combined rabbit holes.

Oh this update was hilarious.
"I think my ankles are broken."
Walk it off, honey, you'll be fine... XD

HATE ON THAT BARSTOOL. YES. I love how everyone was hating that barstool. Sims are odd like that.
Once again, it amazes me how you're pushing through these glitches.

Beautiful family though! They're all so adorable!
Poor Donette. You'll get your hair back soon.

Yeah, they're a lovely crew for sure!
I hadn't even realized that Knave got so little face time in this one.  Oops!

I did decide on a town...and I'll post about that here in a moment...

Glad you enjoyed the update  :=)
One of the dogs apparently was chewing on the barstool, so everyone was just wandering around the house hating it.  Since I almost never have pets in my households, it took forever before I realized why they had so much issue with it.  Of course, I'd already named the band by that time  ;=)

The Flanagan Decadynasty--Non-Update Rant
« Reply #184 on: November 15, 2016, 08:21:36 AM »
So, I have had the worst luck with dynasties and have numerous times messed myself up on them.  It seems I've done it again (even though the game itself tried to save me).
I had read through the rules about moving towns quite a while ago (many dynasty tries ago, really) and thought I remembered them.  I moved as soon as the heir aged up to young adult and started spouse hunting as he had about 4 days to marry and move.  However, a tiny voice at the back of my head was screaming that I should double check the rules (which I did 2 days into the new town).
Per the rules, you can only move after the heir has moved into a home in the original town and then moves with the new family.  Should be no problem because of back-ups and saves, right?  Wrong.
I backed it up immediately after moving (because who wants to wait through that load screen again, right?) and completely ignored the game's cautions of saving it under a new name just in case (thanks for trying, game).  Therefore, my earliest back-up is still in the new town which I moved to illegally.  Sigh.
I'll still post the updates of Cheshire doing his thing and will probably go ahead and put some shots together for the new heir's birth, growing up, and arriving in a new town, but I've DQ'd myself from HoF consideration, so I'll probably just stop playing the file at this point.
On the bright side, I have moved a certain Anastasia and a certain Flanagan boy into a town together...

Oh nooo!
Would it be possible to receive a reprieve? Anyone can see that your game was seriously acting up during this last update--the floorless bedrooms, twisted ankles, and so forth.
It's easy to understand why you would want to escape your save file's glitchiness by relocating.

Would it be worth PM'ing the Challenges Team to ask, or is this extent of glitchiness the norm for TS3?

Thanks for the sympathy.  I'll be that much more diligent about rereading the rules before any big decisions on the next one!

Well, it very distinctly articulates that moving after the heir has moved into the household is the only time it can be done.  Realistically, had I been smarter about checking the rules, I would have saved myself hours of dealing with glitches and the long loading time and whatnot because I would have moved multiple Simweeks before I did.
It's clearly my fault rather than the game's, so I don't think there's any reason other than just taking an overly large amount of pity on me that the challenge team would grant a reprieve.  I had lots of kids throughout the generations and traveled in each generation, so I made the file that much larger simply from those choices (not to mention downloading CC).
It'll be fine.  It was a good run and I definitely learned from it while enjoying it so I can have more success on the next one.

The Flanagan Decadynasty--The King of Dragon Valley?
« Reply #188 on: November 17, 2016, 08:06:56 AM »
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Princess:  Actually, beauty is in the back row of this picture when it should have a spot front and center!

Pippin:  Four teens are a nice group, but it's about time we added a fifth.

Knave:  I look awesome!
Princess:  You look like a dork.
Pippin:  Such a sweet family.

Donette:  He may look dork-tastic, but he can sure play guitar!
Pippin:  And the band gets one member larger.  But in more teen-related matters, it's prom time shortly thereafter.

Pippin:  Awkwardness happens as Princess is named prom queen and Cheshire is the king.
Princess:  Long may I reign!
Cheshire:  I am now king of Dragon Valley?  That's so much pressure!
Pippin:  King of prom.  Not king of the town.  King of prom.
Cheshire:  So much pressure...
Pippin:  Meantime, Princess played her popularity as prom queen into bringing a boy home.

Pippin: Queenie was not impressed.
Princess:  Don't worry, mom, I'm just using my feminine wiles to control him and basically lay claim to his soul.
Random Boy:  Sorry, what?
Princess:  No, sweetie, only speaking when you're spoken to.
Random Boy:  Yes, ma'am.
Pippin:  And more adorable band shots.

Pippin:  And eventually, we get to the point that the heir becomes a young adult.

Cheshire:  I have a bowling shirt.  Now I need to learn to bowl?  King of Dragon Valley and a bowler?  So much pressure!
Ghost of Quinn:  For the love of goodness, get that boy a makeover!
Pippin:  Of course, Cat also ages up and also gets a makeover.

Cat:  We look awesome!
Princess:  Only because you resemble me.
Pippin:  And our heir gets right to work at his most important responsibility...
Cheshire:  Finding a spouse.

Pippin:  I was going to say maxing a career and skill.
Cheshire:  Oh.  That too.

Cheshire:  Ugh!  Why are these weights so heavy?!?
Pippin:  So that they actually work?  Anyway, our heir is going to max athletic and the criminal career.

*We'll be doing some speeding up of the updates since much of what happens from here is where things start to get really glitchy.  In fact, by the time heir 5 is into the toddler years, people are no longer even aging in Dragon Valley, so I started just manually keeping track of time until I was ready for the move...or at least until I thought it was time for the move...

Cheshire and Cat age up handsomely. I do think Cat is the prettiest girl in this generation.
And I love the clothes the two wear as young adults!

Oh Knave, you and your green glasses and lavender Elvis hair! What a gang!

Ugh! More trouble strikes!
I'm so sorry to hear about the end of your Decadynasty! :(
Not that sorry though if we get to see a certain duo in another town...
No, just teasing. It's really crummy that you have to lose so much! :(

For what it's worth, these beautiful children all aged up lovely - despite the glitches and troubles. Perhaps there are better things on the horizon?

Great update. Great to see that you are continuing the story. The Flanagan's band looks cool.  All the kids looks great as young adults. Lastly, good luck to Cheshire on his career. Looking forward for next update.

I prefer Princess.  I like Cat's hair, but I think Princess has more striking features.

Yeah, it was upsetting to lose all that progress.
I figured you'd be pretty happy about Anastasia's upcoming awesomeness :=)

I'll keep posting for a little bit longer anyway  ;=)

**A note for all of my readers**
I have decided to give this decadynasty another go.  I'll be restarting with Quinn and seeing how it goes.  I think I've learned a lot from what didn't go as well, so (fingers crossed) maybe I can complete this next go!
That said, I'll be splitting time between this attempt and the domination dynasty, so it may not move as quickly this time around.

The Flanagan Decadynasty--Randomness and Romance
« Reply #193 on: November 18, 2016, 06:23:00 PM »

Law and order, rules and systems.  They benefit all of us.
Princess:  "All of us" is putting it a bit too strong.

Officer Anonymous:  You'll need to stop responding to the narration and get into the car, ma'am.
Princess:  Whatever.
Pippin:  But hopefully, the girls will be more responsible once they age up.

Donette:  Some of us already were responsible.
Princess:  Stuff it, goody goody!

Pippin:  And they become a rather lovely duo.

Donette:  I got my hair back!
Princess:  Psh, some of us have more than just hair going for us.

Cheshire:  Shhh, some of us are trying to sleep.

Pippin:  Just sleeping.  No other activities.

Pippin:  Nope.  No other activities.  Sleeping or snuggling.  That's it.
Cheshire:  Actually, I do other things too.

Princess:  We both do, yet I'm the only one who gets caught.
Pippin:  Knave ended up getting a romantic interest at prom.

Pippin:  He never pops any romantic wishes to interact with her, but he doesn't have the heart to break up with her.
Cheshire:  ...I don't like cake, and you'd better keep that in mind, weirdo!

Pippin:  Talking to yourself?
Cheshire:  You know it!

Pippin:  Random Boy who randomly became Princess' romantic interest at prom also works in the criminal career.
Princess:  And I will use that to my advantage.
Pippin:  And Cheshire is making rapid progress.
Cheshire:  Yes, I'm getting strong relationships built up with all of my potential spouses.
Pippin:  I meant your skilling and career.
Cheshire:  Oh.  That too.
Pippin:  And Cheshire and Princess each opted for customized work outfits.

Princess:  Hey, just because I steal for a living doesn't mean I can't look good while I do it!
Pippin:  And eventually, she makes Random Boy her random boyfriend.

Princess:  Actually, I just did that so I can go flirt with the manmaid and make him jealous so I'll get the fiendishly delighted moodlet.
Pippin:  Umm, your new boyfriend just left.
Princess:  I can't make him suffer?
Pippin:  And he gets to stay your boyfriend.
Princess:  That evil genius!  Hmmm, maybe I do kind of like him...
Pippin:  And speaking of liking people, Knave breaks off his high school romance and gets a new sweetheart.

Knave: I adore her!  By the way, did you ever bother telling the readers that I aged up?
Pippin:  Oh.  I...must have mentioned it...at some point?

Pippin:  And it's great when you have a talented sister to make your moment even more romantic.

Ghost of Quinn:  I'm so proud!

The Flanagan Decadynasty--Cheshire's Big Moment
« Reply #194 on: November 20, 2016, 11:20:29 AM »
Reaching the top of one's career and maximizing a skill are lofty accomplishments for anyone.
Pippin:  Of course, they're even bigger milestones for one's Watcher!

Cheshire:  My celebration party at Flanagan Fishing Hole...which I own.
Pippin:  And now's your big moment, Cheshire.
Cheshire:  What big moment?
Pippin:  The one you've been focused on through the whole time you've been heir?
Cheshire:  Taco Tuesday?
Pippin:  No!  Picking your spouse!
Cheshire:  Oh!  First, I'm gonna jam with my siblings.

Cheshire:  Okay.  It's time.

Pippin:  Of course, things were that extra layer of glitchy in Dragon Valley.

Pippin:  He went as far as proposing and still didn't get the "ask to forsake werewolfiness" interaction, which is what I'm sure it's actually called.
Cheshire:  Ummm, so if I can't marry her...?
Pippin:  Sigh, time to be a jerk.

Pippin:  Notice that it's light out?  We waited two full extra days to see if the "ask to forsake werewolfiness" interaction would appear.  It failed.
Cheshire:  So, what are my other options?
Pippin:  Let's see...

Pippin:  Here's a local teen who could age into an option any day now!
Cheshire:  She's sweet, but aren't we in more of a hurry than this to get out of Glitchville?
Pippin:  Okay, there's also...

Pippin:  The mother of Random Boy who is your sister's boyfriend.
Cheshire:  I love her!
Dillon:  And I'm single.
Cheshire:  I love her even more!

Cheshire:  So, would you like to marry me, have a child, and possibly die to leave a good-sized tombstone to help out my family's legacy?
Dillon:  I'd prefer to skip that last part, but...
Cheshire:  Sounds like a yes to me!

Cheshire:  I got you a ring!
Dillon:  I accept!

Dillon:  I do.
Cheshire:  You do what?

Cheshire:  Oh!  That's what you do!
Pippin:  And a short while (and many unnecessary extra tries later), the wardrobe change of pregnancy occurs!

Pippin:  And Cheshire introduces an aged-up friend to the old guy he kept in the household to help provide a suitable tombstone.

Pippin:  Pollinating a town for no reason?  Nope.  Getting lots of LTHP!

Pippin:  Lots and lots of LTHP.  Seriously.  Stop and take a shower once in a while!  Anyway, speaking of showering, Cheshire manages to find some spare time to rehydrate his wife.

Pippin:  And eventually, we have an heir!

Pippin:  Welcome to the family, Hatton:  the heir who will take us to a new town!
