And now, back to our story.

In a distant land where magic exists and dragons are real, there was a man...

Quinn:  A man?  More like the man.  The definitive article, you might say.
Pippin:  So, Quinn, would you be willing to...
Quinn:  Be the founder of a dynasty?  The creator of progeny which will dominate the landscape?  Have my name go down in history?
Pippin:  Ummm, yeah?
Quinn:  Sure.  Sounds like fun.
Pippin:  Okay, so I've already chosen a spouse...
Quinn:  No, I'll take care of that.
And thus Quinn set off on a whirlwind tour of meeting available ladies in Dragon Valley.

Aislin:  Would you care to come inside?
Quinn:  Actually, I need to go meet more women, but come to my party later?
Aislin:  Yes!

Quinn:  Susie, did you know there are little hearts floating over your head?
Susie:  Umm, you have them too.
Quinn:  What?  Oh.  So I do.

Teagan:  One day I will crush this world into submission.
Quinn:  Well, that sounds pleasant.  Don't you have a sister?

Shannon:  Please, handsome hero, rescue me from living with my evil sister.
Quinn:  Damsel in distress motif?  I can work with that.   Come to my party tonight.
Shannon:  Sure thing!
Quinn:  And bring your sister.
Shannon:  ...what?

Emma:  Hello!  That's a rather...interesting outfit you have there.
Quinn:  Well, I'm rather an interesting fellow.

Marion:  Check out the gun show!
Quinn:  Wow.  You should really take that show on the road.  Like to my party tonight.
Pippin:  And so, Quinn threw a party that night inviting the six potential brides he'd met that day.
Quinn:  And I had it professionally catered.

Aislin:  You just ordered pizza?  That's so lame.
Quinn:  And, next candidate!

Shannon:  Let me tell you some more about how evil my sister is.
Quinn:  Fascinating.
Emma:  (thinking) Notice me.  Notice me!
Pippin:  And a short time later, Quinn was quite effectively captivating every red-haired guest at his party with a riveting tale.

Quinn:  And then the Grim Reaper was signed to a major record label and went on tour and I got to play lead cowbell in his band.
Pippin:  But one of the non-blondes managed to grab his attention.

Susie:  Your house is really weird, but in a cool way.
Pippin:  She seems nice.
Quinn:  Yes.  Nice.
By the end of the first party, Quinn had spent more time chatting with Shannon than anyone else, but had established at least some level of relationship with all of his potential spouses.

Quinn:  This looks like a good place to throw another party.

Pippin:  And let the spontaneous courting begin!

Brandon:  ...and that, dear ladies, is why I'm so awesome!
Quinn:  Who invited this loser to my party?
Pippin:  Well, you threw a party at a public venue, so...

Pippin:  It appears that Susie finds Teagan repulsive.

Pippin:  And Emma disagrees.
Teagan:  Umm, so this just happened.

Pippin:  And it appears Susie has suddenly become a witch.
Susie:  Look how bewitching I am, Quinn!
Pippin:  Aww, that's cute!
Quinn:  You would enjoy that.  I'm just going to keep chatting with this odd couple.
And Quinn would throw one more party with all six before narrowing it down to a final four

Quinn:  Really, Marion?  Flirting with your husband right in front of me?  Very unclassy.
Pippin:  Well, you're courting her when she's a married woman, so...
Quinn:  Don't bring your logic into this!

Pippin:  And is taunting Teagan really that logical, Mr. Definitive Article?
Quinn:  Look at her.  She loves this!

Pippin:  And these two spent most of the party here instead of interacting with our founder.  Despite this, Aislin managed to make the final four.  Shannon, who was in the lead after the first party, basically ignored Quinn at ever subsequent party and she and Teagan have fallen out of the top four.
And so, only Susie, Aislin, Marion, and Emma remain.  Who will be the spouse?  Well, if I told you, there'd be no reason for the next update.

In case anyone needed the clarification, I've had Quinn take two days off of work and he's havinga  series of five parties with his potential spouses.  As Watcher, I'm doing nothing with the interactions other than having people take a break from playing guitar or turning off the TV so everyone has full chance to interact.  At the end of the fifth party, the gal with the highest relationship with Quinn will be the bride.  I was inspired for this idea by reading Hazelnut's Big Brother story.

Autonomous spouse-hunting, what a great way to start your new adventure!
Pippin, what was your, I mean, Quinn's criteria for selecting the candidates?
(My gaming computer broke before Dragon Valley came out, so I no longer play TS3 nor have I ever played Dragon Valley...)

Storytelling potential? Genetics? Traits?

Dragon Valley is lovely, though I'd never really played around with the townies that much, so doing a deca here will be a fun, new experience.  Glad to have you along for the fun  :=)

I actually picked him as my Sim for my exploring of town to decide if I really wanted to start here and who to use as a founder, but when he spun into his formal wear and gave this lovely Mad Hatter vibe, it was all over.  And yes, he is just naturally sassy.

Well, I actually just looked over the list of eligible females and had him spend the first several hours running house to house to try to catch some of them.  Then, I just took whatever grouping I had and started playing.  It stinks that you missed out on Dragon Valley.  It's a really pretty setting!
If I had picked the spouse rather than letting him choose, I would have quite unfairly favored every redhead in town  :=)

Dragon Valley! I love Quinn and his his eccentric way of dressing, not to mention his excellent traits. As a bride I particularly like Marion, she usually makes beautiful children. Good start :)

Great start of a decadynasty. And what a great way to chose the bride, Party. May the best of the best win the right to become the bride of Quinn. And best of luck to Quinn and his descendants. Bookmarked and looking forward for next update.

Well, it's up to Quinn whether or not Marion gets chosen.
Strangely, up until Livvielove bought my attention to him, I'd never really paid attention to Quinn.

Yeah, I always like the idea of having Sims happily married, but I often go into stories already having chosen for them, so then I just have to pretend they're happy when they're not.  I figured this was a good way to make the beginning of the story moe interesting while also making sure my founder would have happiness.

Dragon Valley will soon be taken over by red heads, I love the idea. And rainboos too. Susie has won me over so I'm hoping she'll be first.

Somewhere along the line, I played with Susie as a spouse. She was great, but I don't think you can miss with any of these women. I've always been averse to breaking up marriages (we'll be having our 45th anniversary in a couple of months, maybe that has something to do with it).

Oh, Pip, I also forgot to mention: I love the cowbell reference and Bradan had me dying! XD

"That is why I'm so awesome."
Yes, Bradan, you really are.

There's such personality in Dragon Valley! ;D

I also laughed so much at the lead cowbell comment, that I came back to reread your update and forgot that I'd already commented once.
Can't wait to see who the lucky bride turns out to be.

Dragon Valley starts off with quite a few lovely redheads.  Why haven't I always been playing in DV?

I sometimes have no problems in breaking up Sims marriages and other times I just find it completely unacceptable.  It definitely depends on the Sims themselves.
And an early happy anniversary to you!

I almost ended up choosing Bradan as my founder.  I then was quite amused when I read through your Nix story and found him as the spouse!  Quinn and Bradan.  Great minds think alike, eh?

I'm glad the cowbell comment was enjoyed.  I just always found that image of Grim playing his scythe like a guitar wonderfully silly, so I figured it fit Quinn (as did a nice embellishment to make himself sound awesome).

We rejoin a Dragon Valley that has found itself to be the home of a burgeoning new decadynasty.
Quinn:  "Burgeoning?"  Is someone trying to show off their vocabulary?
Pippin:  ...maybe.  Why are you in a swimsuit?

Quinn:  Well, I've already seen their casual attire and formal wear, so this only seemed natural.
Pippin:  And the tomato?
Quinn:  ...I was hungry and there's a garden close by.  Pretty sure it's not stealing if a party's involved.
Pippin:  Look!  Guests are here!

Quinn:  Why, Marion!  These are much lovelier than the ones you gave your husband at the last party!
Marion:  True.  He should be really jealous.
Pippin:  Yes.  The flowers are why he should be jealous.

And even as Quinn was enjoying the presence of his potential spouses in their swimwear, a creepy paparazzo was enjoying him
Quinn:  That's right.  Admire the view ladies.

Susie:  Oh, I'm enjoying it alright.
Pippin:  Subtle.  Next party!

Pippin:  I don't think that's how eye contact works, Quinn.
Quinn:  ...sorry, what?  I was distracted.

Emma:  Teeheehee.
Quinn:  Haha.  Why are we laughing?
Emma:  I'm not actually sure, but isn't it cute.
Quinn:  ...I suppose it is, actually.

Aislin:  Your jokes are terrible!
Quinn:  As are your chances of winning.
Pippin:  And Marion's chances are equally poor since she didn't show up to this party.

Pippin:  However, Shannon, who wasn't even invited to this party, dominated Quinn's time and was looking like she might pull a come-from-behind victory...except that the party ended too soon.
Quinn:  Well, I've made my decision.  Now that the party's ended, I'm inviting one of the guests back.

Pippin:  Susie Sackholme.  While Marion and Emma each also reached good friend status, Susie had moved further with the connection.
Quinn:  Speaking of connections...(puckers up)

Susie:  How about we don't kiss yet?
Quinn:  Oh.  Ummm.  Of course.  But you're still spending the night?
Susie:  Yes.  In the guest bed.
Quinn:  Oh.
Pippin:  Yes.  I think this one can handle you.
And the next day...
Susie:  I'm ready for that kiss now!

Quinn:  I'm so happy!

Susie:  Well.  This is awkward.

Congratulations to Quinn and Susie!
As the only blonde among all the redheads, the cards were stacked against you, Susie, but you pulled through.

Quinn seems like such an eccentric sim--a perfect vehicle for Pippin's keen wit!
