Computer Help
« on: June 11, 2016, 07:09:35 PM »
Thanks so much, Carl! What do you think of the :

Lenovo - Yoga 900 13.3" 2-in-1 Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 512GB Solid State Drive - Silver

Seems close to the specs you recommended, but not sure about the graphics card... Does the touch screen work for sims 3? If I were to get a touchscreen, I think Yoga is the way to go!

This one has quad-core processor and nvidia, and is a bit cheaper, but it's refurbished and I've never heard of Pick n Ship (?):

HP Omen 15-5010nr Gaming Laptop | HP Recertified in Grade A Condition | Touchscreen | 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ Quad-Core Processor i7-2.5GHz | 8GB RAM | 256GB-SSD (Solid State Drive) | Webcam | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M GPU with 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Memory | Windows 8.1 Home Preloaded |

Would love your feedback!
Thanks!

Hey there, welcome to the forum, IdyllRouge! The memory looks good and a Solid State Drive is always a plus, however I'm unsure about touch screen functions with games. Other than that, it seems to meet the minimum requirements. Feel free to stop by the Technical Help board where you may run into myself or @Flynn Arrowstarr and @MrsFlynn to help you further with any other computer questions you might have!
Happy Simming!

Welcome, IdyllRouge! I've used a touch screen for TS3 and TS4 without any problems.

Hi, IdyllRouge. Welcome to the forums!

Touch screen shouldn't affect the game as it usually acts like a mouse pointer on most systems. I did take a look at some basic specs for the Lenovo Yoga 900 series and mostly it looks good. I would like to point out that you want to make sure the model you're looking at has an nVidia GTX graphics card or an AMD R7 graphics card with at least 1 GB of its own memory. If it only lists an Intel HD for graphics the games may play but at severely reduced graphics despite the power of the system.

If you have a link to the system you're looking at, post it here and we'll take a look. :)
