The "Great Wooly Llamas" message
« on: May 20, 2016, 02:51:18 PM »
After receiving the almanac of time, I keep randomly receiving notification boxes with the quoted message above at the start. These keep bugging me as I have to keep clicking them off; is there a way to toggle this on or off?

I don't play with the Into the Future stuff. So all I can go on is what I'm searching on: Sims 3 Great Wooly Llamas

There are some tips that might help.

- Quit the game and restart it. That sometimes helps.
- Turn off notices using Nraas Register. - http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Register

1. Click Map View
2. Left-click on City Hall and Select Nraas > Register
3. Select Show Notices = False

I doubt this particular incident has anything to do with a mod as I followed that instruction sequence and it still shows up.

The full notification says "Great woolly llamas [Sim name]! A flucuation in the space time continuum may have affected your Descendants! Go into the Future to see what changes may have occurred!"

In short, this is invoked by the following:
  • Well-paying jobs/skills
  • Winning the lottery
  • Graduating from university
  • Reaching Level 8 of a social group
  • Adopting children or pets
  • Switching life states
  • Deaths
  • Purchasing lifetime rewards

There are three possible futures with into the future.

Dystopian
Normal
Utopian

Those messages tell you that your current actions impact the way that the future neighbourhood will look. eg there will be lots of meteors with a dystopian future.

They are part of the regular gameplay and I'm not sure there is a way to turn them off, sorry, short of unchecking ITF (on the select which expansion and stuff packs you wish to play with screen with the launcher) and playing with it unselected.

Have you spoken with the time traveller that comes into your present world? I think if you don't speak with him, then those messages don't come up.

Sorry, I haven't played with ITF selected for quite some time, so I'm not really sure.

Like I said above, I don't play with Into the Future. I usually delete the time portal just after it plops down on my lot.

However I believe Dek is correct in that those messages will pop-up after you've been to the future and have met your future family. And they may not be able to be turned off natively in-game. But you might be able to use Nraas Register to turn them off. Link and howto in my post above.
