Visser Immortal Dynasty in Bridgeport

Meet Simon Visser.  Disinherited and ostracized to Bridgeport with a warning to stay there and do not even attempt to call.  Simon wonders if this had something to do with the salmon incident or with his sandals.  They do go very well with his tux.  At least he didn't have to join the army like his dad wanted.

Sounds intriguing.

Time to go fishing.  Simon signed up for the Angler job at the city hall and headed to the closest pond.  Funny how water is not blue in this place.



Being inappropriate has its advantages - one cheap sink can go a long way. Simon can tell that the mailman arriving in the morning is going to be a problem.  Can't a man sponge bath in his own yard?

 

Now to meet the city ladies.  No hits in the library, but the gym looks promising.  This blonde is nice enough until they start talking.  "You live outdoors??  No way, don't even talk to me!"



This cutie seems more receptive.  Her name is Odine and she is family oriented.  She does not bat an eye when Simon explains about what to do in case of weather when you live on a patch of grass.  Smooth move, Simon.



When Simon runs out of pleasant things to say, Odine politely excuses herself.  He spots a huge mirror and decides to practice his charm and maybe a move or two.

YAY! Another Dynasty story. Welcome aboard Veldmuisie, and good luck.

Back home while eating yet another quick sandwich Simon realizes that he is broke and lonely and the place can do with a little light too.  He wonders if Odine can cook.



"So...do you by any chance have a car?  No reason."



He could tell Odine was surprised by the nice ring he offered.  Turns out she is the live-in maid for the Littles down the street and has a thing for the husband.   Simon wondered what his snobby parents would say.  Maybe not calling them is a good thing. 



Odine is a cook at the local restaurant and perfectionist.  She is immediately tasked with painting.  Simon feels a little left-out.  "Uh... okay then...  if you need me I'll be at the pond."



Odine is also tasked with gardening.  No time for putting clothes on, the tomatoes are waiting!

Thanks - everyone is so nice here!  Okay, we fast forward a bit in our story because Simon is fishing and picking up seeds, and Odine is working, cooking, painting and gardening.  That seems quite uneven, but that's them rulez.  Besides, it is hard work walking around in a tux and looking gorgeous.  Simon is getting quite famous.

And here he is, so exited to show off his 13 perfect fish in three big aquariums.  He actually made a long speech about bait and good spots to stand but I cut it for the sake of moving on with the story.



A little pond was dug in the front yard and Simon let ten very good deathfish go.  That is more than six thousand simoleons and hurt the budget but it was for the greater good.  Note the little bungalow in the back for bathroom privacy.



Parties is a great way to meet potential best friends.  Too bad everyone is constantly tired and hungry.  "Hiii, sorry to wake you up but you invited me to your party and here I am.  Hii!"



Right before Simon turned into an adult, Odine started two portraits and waited until she completed her painting challenges before attempting to finish them.  Turns out the game did not like this and I had to scrap them both.
 


At another party Simon is getting a really strange feeling but he can't quite put his finger on it.



Simon has now caught more than 150 deathfish and reached level 10 of the Angler career. Man, those fish are ugly.



One special seed out of 15 unknowns turned out to be a life plant.  Odine is looking forward to end her gardening activities.  She must have harvested a million apples by now.

Odine is having a heart to heart about how, since she is not getting any younger, it might be time to try for a family.  Simon does not seem to be taking this in.



I have always suspected that a pregnancy on the lot triggers things to break.  Odine has been pregnant for less than an hour and already the dishwasher, shower and tv are broken.



Look what book she is reading... mmm ambrosia...



Okay, so that happened.  Meet baby Natalie.  They both wished to have a girl late in the pregnancy so I did not have a chance to meddle with watermelons. 



Odine just got the call that her sweetheart kicked the bucket.  I forgot to have her break off the relationship with him, so she bawled for hours and pointed this out to me every time after she ate.  This was seriously throwing off my baby-care groove so after a day I gave up and sent her to the graveyard to get a grip.



Somebody is having a birthday!  Simon is always looking over his shoulder.  There are no photographers on the lot.  I wonder what he sees.

Simon took a job at the school to make friends and get special opportunities.  He only has a few to go.  Before work he snuggles the baby.  What the?  Celebrities have no privacy!



Simon seems really excited about potty training.



Odine takes a break from toddler watch for a trip to the spa.  Check out her transportation, cheep and fast.  Simon has named his and it showed up as his best friend.  I suspect this is a guy thing.



Natalie is trying to read while her mom is attacking a block of ice with a chainsaw.  Has she finally gone bonkers from too much maternity leave?



Simon got an apple from a student.  He seems puzzled over what to do with it.  Nice dorky teacher pants, Simon!



Simon is in his happy place after eating ambrosia.  Look at that silly grin.  He has completed all the requirements and is now immortal.



We have reached the end of our first generation, this is the last picture.  Here is Simon in his underground museum by his 3 portraits painted by Odine.

Previously on the Visser Immortal Dynasty:  (Gen 1) Simon and Odine had baby Natalie.  Simon ate his ambrosia after completing his all his requirements.

Chapter 2 (Gen 2): 
Here is Natalie Visser, Simon's daughter, having a bit of fun before school.  Is it safe for kids to jump this high on the trampoline?



Odine says to Simon: "Honey when you said we are going to live outdoors, I didn't realize you meant forever!"



This is where Odine decided that she likes this fat mona lisa painting and she will now paint 200 more of them.



Natalie is baking all evening for her great bake sale on the weekend.



Most of Natalie's customers are cranky vampires who are being blasted by the midday sun, so sales are a bit low.  For the rest of the month the Visser family will eat brownies and cupcakes for breakfast lunch and dinner. 



Odine has made her life time wish of being a celebrity chef and decided to retire.  There is a super nice fridge in the kitchen that everyone likes.  Thanks, Odine!



Natalie's first task as a teenager is to paint.  Is that...a grater and blocks of cheese?



Simon got tired of teaching and retired in his pajamas.  Odine is helping him celebrate.



Odine goes to a party and does not come back 



Simon does not waste any time.  Stop that!

No kidding Simon doesn't waste any time! 

My founder rolled the wish to 'get married' the day after his second wife died! There must be something in the Dynasty waters.

[Veldmuisie]

Natalie finally made it through high school and is calling to schedule her first adventure.  She has the Seasoned Adventurer life time want which I cleverly planned for gathering all the seeds for the next generation gardener.  The next few are snaps from her adventures at various locations.




Back at the house a burglar got caught sneaking into the kitchen area.



Natalie is an architect and works hard to meet people and convince them that they need to remodel.  Apparently the apartments are off-limits so only the rich get to have their houses renovated again and again.  Fortunately, doing research on the sketching table counts towards career progress even if your painting skill is maxed.



Natalie's elder client died right as she turned in the renovation!  She used so many of her own nice photographs and now she will not even get paid!  



After that disaster, Natalie needs a drink.



Another bizarre painting, looks like it was influenced by that droopy pants artist.  What was his name again?  Natalie will now be the permanent family painter but I forgot how hard it is to paint self-portraits.  After three I realized that she is always facing to the right and had to put the easel somewhere else.



More adventuring and man-hunting.  Unfortunately all the eligble bachelors in Bridgeport are eldery or undead  




Natalie gets a great review and reaches level 10 of her career.  The clock is ticking and she will need to find a suitable husband soon!  Notice the nice photo from Egypt on the wall.

Meet Eugene!  This sexy guy is from another country but I have no idea which because I do not remember meeting him.  But there he was in Natalie's contact list and they get along famously.



No time to waste on small talk, Natalie only has a few days left before her birthday.  Eugene seems pretty pleased with himself for whoohooing away from home.



Here is where I encountered several problems.  I got all the guests and food and drinks on the lot ready.  Eugene came in his casual clothes.  The bride and groom refused to stand still for one second so I could get a shot under the nice arch I built. The marrying option was greyed out.  Eventually everyone left with a negative moodlet for not seeing a wedding, including the groom!



The next day Eugene came over again and Natalie managed to marry him but he still did not move in.  When Simon convinced him to move in after a few tries, the Grim Reaper was in his list of house members!  Just for a laugh, I moved him into the lot with the intention of reloading.  I have never had Grim playable before.  Here he is doing ordinary stuff and the car I bought him.  He had a klepto life time want while wishing to join the police force.




Okay, back to our story.  Natalie is astonished that she is now married. (Not as much as I am.)



Helen is born a few days later.  Hey, where is Eugene going?



One more quick trip to China for that last visa.  Here is our lady picking up the axe, very sauve.



Grandpa happily looks after Helen when he is not fishing.

Natalie was invited to the town center for a celebration in her honor but nobody was there!  She calls the mayor to ask what is going on.  Eventualy she got a negative moodlet for not attending.



Eugene has two very strange habits.  Every now and then he will drop everything, run to Natalie, burst out laughing and point at her.  She was not falsely accused in public, and I could not find any clues in the moodlets or consistency in what she is doing to figure out why this is happening.  His second habit is waking up whenever she comes to bed.



Simon is getting his ice sculpture done.  Natalie also took a nice photo of him fishing...in his undies of course.



Natalie has completed all her painting challenges and painted many masterpieces.  She is artistic and has the extra creative reward.  Here she is wondering if she is a genuine artist or if she will forever paint dark blotches with hair on top.



It seems that little Helen has inherited Eugene's sensitive sleeping patterns.  (Neither have the light sleeper trait.)  Sometimes she will not go to sleep when put in the crib tired.  Also, if anyone dares to go into her room while she is sleeping, she will wake up.  I tried turning the lights of manually, but she still wakes up.  This makes for a cranky toddler.



Natalie is now an elder and running out of things to do.  She only has special black ops to complete.



I love the butler!  He does everything!  Too bad he is bugged.  When he vanished, I reset him and did not hire one again. 



Eugene is waiting for his ride.  I put him here a lot or in the hot tub because he is trouble.  He sinks into the bed or freezes and has to be reset.  He is in the political track and two of his coworkers do not have bodies!  They are in his friends list with names and a full relationship but they are invisible.  I dare not invite them over!



Helen is selling a few cupcakes.  She seems to have outgrown her sleep problems, thank goodness.



She is an easy child and I look forward to her birthday.



I have inadvertently discovered how to get famous fast and with no effort:  do not have a house.  The paparazzi will stick to your sims like flies and increase their fame instantly.   My family trait is to love the outdoors, and so I planned to only have a few bungalows for bathrooms and one for the master bedroom.  My sims are falling over the press to go about their business.  This might be contributing to my current bugginess, so I will have to find a way to enclose my lot without losing the outdoor feel.  Here is a before photo.  Will post the after photo next time.



Little does this burglar know that the frail old lady Natalie is brave and will kick his butt.



Finally Natalie has completed all her requirements for being an immortal!  That was pretty close, even though she took a business job at the last minute she still had trouble getting opportunities.  Simon made her some ambrosia (he picked up cooking lately) and she is enjoying her meal while everyone is asleep.
