Adventureland
« on: May 04, 2016, 10:03:17 AM »
So do to computer issues I'm in the process of reinstalling sims3.  I noticed a new town called Adventurland.  I don't have any cc or mods.  I never have seen this before.  It looks like sunset valley with none of the buildings from the other expansions and none of the usual families. There appears to be 2 households.  Ransone and Hardy.  Does anyone else have this. I play Sims 3 all the time and have never seen this before until I reinstalled.

This seems to be true!! This town was patched in with the latest Origin patch for Sims 3. When you reinstall, and patch up. You get the town.

"Adventureland" added with Patch 1.69.43

** Sometime in 2015 EA decided to give us one more patch for Sims 3 - 1.69 It was to integrate Origin into Sims 3. -- Origin is required to play Sims 3.

If you have the digital download version. This is the version you are stuck with. If you have the original disc version, you can choose which patch version you want to use.

I don't think that is normal. But you may have had it from a previous install, specially if you didn't remove your \Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 before you reinstalled.

So I did a little more research because I was worried that I had something strange on my computer.  There is a thread on the regular sims forum about Adventureland.  Apparently came with patch 1.69.43.   Others have had it appear in games when reinstalling.  just so if anyone like me does a reinstall it has something to do with this patch

Thanks for the response Mrs. Flynn.  It's not normal but I guess it's because of the patch, to be honest I did not realize they had patches for sims3 anymore. It has been awhile since I patched it.

The town itself is literally sunset valley with 2 people (families) wearing world adventure outfits.  One lives in Hank and Pauline house and the 2 houses down.   I suppose if someone wanted a world where they wanted to add the families it could be useful, but not sure if I would since I like the sims in sunset valley.
