Take This Challenge...It's a Steal!

Take This Challenge...It's a Steal!

Goal
Ah, temptation! Sure, you can resist stealing your neighbor's gnome but can your Sim? Not with the kleptomaniac trait. But in this challenge, that's okay. So go ahead and take your neighbor's gnome, and also the lamp, the computer, and the TV. For 3 glorious weeks, until becoming an adult, your Sim can swipe as much as he or she can carry.

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge Rules always apply. If applicable, exceptions will be noted below.

Specific Challenge Rules
  • Create one human YA sim in CAS. You must choose the Kleptomaniac trait.
  • No adding to the household.
  • No moving.
  • You are allowed to use the Buydebug cheat for the sole purpose of purchasing a satellite to prevent abductions.
  • All income is limited to selling stolen items**. If you did not steal it, you cannot sell it.
  • No parties or dates.
  • All Reward Store traits are banned.
  • This challenge ends when your Sim has aged up to Adult.
**NOTE: Grimsoul has informed us that outdoor plants cannot be stolen. Your sim might think it's possible to swipe them, but they won't show up in inventory. In addition, your sim will think the swipe was successful and not be able to steal anything for a few hours.

Scoring

Household Funds — When your Sim turns Adult, sell all stolen items in Household and Personal Inventory, then note your total Household Funds.

Ch-Ch-Changes
The team does not want to edit and make changes to the ruleset once this event goes live, but we may have to. If an exploit is brought to our attention or we discover something else we reserve the right to ask affected players to redo their effort.

Have Questions?
Please think hard before you ask in the challenge thread because it may be strategy. What you may consider an innocent question could cause another player to go — “oh, I did not think of doing that.” It’s always safer to PM everyone on the team (Metro, ratchie, Nutella, LenaLJ, Trip, and MarianT) for clarifications. Thanks.

And the Winner is...
After this event has closed everyone is encouraged to discuss how they approached the event, but the winner especially is expected to do so in detail.

Household Funds — When your Sim turns Adult, sell all stolen items in Household Inventory and then note your total Household Funds.

Is it just stolen items in Household Inventory that count?  Or do stolen items in Personal Inventory count also?
Do you have to wait to sell the items till your sim ages up, or can you sell as you go along?

They both count, household inventory and personal inventory.  It must be "stolen", that is the requirement.

You can sell as you go along.

Pardon me if this is a silly question, but this is my first challenge. So basically we can move into a fresh town with our starting money and our ending balance will be whatever we make from stealing, minus whatever we spend to move in, eat, etc?

Are we permitted to choose other traits for our Sim in addition to Kleptomaniac?

Shouldn't you also have to subtract whatever starting funds you have left over, as this is income not obtained from stealing?

We usually let people keep the funds that are left after they've set up their living quarters. It's part of strategy, then, how much you want to spend on making your sim comfortable.

Added the following just now...

**NOTE: Grimsoul has informed us that outdoor plants cannot be stolen. Your sim might think it's possible to swipe them, but they won't show up in inventory. In addition, your sim will think the swipe was successful and not be able to steal anything for a few hours.

Thank you, Grimsoul.
