Since last spring, I’ve been reading and re-reading the rules for Pinstar’s Apocalypse Challenge for Sims 4. You’ll find the rules to his challenge here.
I’ve gotten more excited whenever @JudesSims posts an update to her Apocalypse Challenge.

Last week, I finished the Wonder Child Challenge for the second time to design a founder which I consider to be better suited for an Apocalypse Challenge than my first Wonder Child.
Here's a screenshot of my Wonder Child during his high school years.

And, now, that Wonder Child appears as the founder of my Apocalypse Challenge that follows. (You can read about my Wonder Child Challenge here.)
I’m sure to fail my first attempt at an Apocalypse Challenge but I’d like to try posting a story, regardless.

Chapter 1: Nice to Meet You (Again)

This morning, I arrived for the first time in a dismal, depressing excuse of a city named New Phoenix.
This here should be one of its neighborhoods named Bedrock Straits.
It’s a curious name for a city, really. I mean, the city’s original name “Phoenix” already suggests a city reborn, after the legendary bird that rises from death. Since the nuclear meltdown, however, the city’s been renamed “New Phoenix” with the fervent hope that the once resurrected city can recover from its current state of devastation, dire poverty, and rampant corruption.

My name’s Satoru Sanada and I’m a product of the Wonder Child Project administered by the Simverse Center of Genetic Excellence.
During my senior year of high school, my parents received a missive from the Center.
They were to hold on to that missive and hand it to me only after I graduated from high school and aged up to a young adult.

What? You’d like to read my briefing, too? Can you keep a secret? Do you consider yourself trustworthy? Seriously? Well, okay, I guess.
Let me read aloud my briefing for you.
(The following is a moderately edited version of the original written by Pinstar for this challenge.)

Date: April 17, 2116
Location: The City of New Phoenix
Program: The Apocalypse Challenge
Project: RRR (Phase 2)

Briefing

Greetings Citizen Sanada. No doubt you have heard of the devastation.
Many of the media reports coming out of the City of New Phoenix have been whitewashed to gloss over what happened there.
We know that approximately 5 minutes after half time of the Super Bowl, the nuclear power plant of New Phoenix melted down, devastating the entire region.
The army core of engineers cites that a simultaneous flush of every toilet in the city caused a massive drop in water pressure, thus causing the plant to melt down due to loss of coolant.
This isn’t your ordinary meltdown. That plant was experimental! The fallout is causing strange and odd problems in the region and we have very little detail about what is going on in there.

What we DO know is that we need a leader, a hero to willingly go in there, establish themselves in the region and help restore the region back to normal.
We have one other bit of declassified information. This actually happened 20 years ago. We’ve lost contact with the region.
You, Citizen Sanada, have graduated from our Wonder Child project. You were specially created to be able to solve these issues.

So get in there and show us what you are made of!
The lost city of New Phoenix is depending on you!

Sincerely yours,

Dr. Eugene Icks, Director
Simverse Center of Genetic Excellence

There, happy now?

According to my papers, I’ll be living in a lot named Slipshod Mesquite. Looks like it’s up the road a bit and across the street.
I’d asked the Center for a large lot with access to fishing areas. Apparently, the lot that best fit my criteria was already occupied by a Mr. Zest, who kindly agreed to relocate with his trailer.
He now lives in a lot that is 50% smaller, on the other side of the street from his original location.
I’m looking forward to meeting the big-hearted gentleman.
Ooooh, look at those three little garden gnomes! I wonder if Mr. Zest would mind if I kicked them over, just this once... (so tempting!)

Ahhh, this must be Slipshod Mesquite lot.  Not such an optimistic name, eh?
Watchette: We’re a little over-dressed, aren’t we?
Satoru: Oh hey, it’s you from the island! W’sup? Why are you here?
W: Well, I was only ever at that island to watch over you, Satoru. Since you’ve moved here, I have, too.
So tell me, what’s the story with the outfit? I love “outfits”!

S: I’d actually never been away from the island or the Windenburg suburbs before, so I miscalculated what New Phoenix would be like.
I was going for a cyber-steampunk look because I don’t fancy post-apocalyptic grunge with the face dirt and all that.
But I’m feeling a little overdressed, to be honest. I’m simply surrounded by dust and cacti! No steam here!
W: Well, your other everyday outfit will do just fine, so let’s think about where you’re going to live first.

W: Until you lift the Criminal/Boss career restriction, the local mob reduces your cash to zero as soon as you pay your bills on Monday.
And until the teen career Retail Employee is maxed, you can only go into Build/Buy modes on Sunday.
This is going to be one complicated challenge to monitor….

S: That’s right. I’m thinking you should spend most of our cash today, no? I won’t get a bill until next Monday.
The house must fit within an 8x8 tile grid, but may be extended upward and/or downward (Secret Agent/Villain restriction).

Here are shots of the new home's interior. It’s not much yet because only the lowest-quality item in any item category can be bought (Tech Guru/Startup)
The floor plan of this house is inspired by SummerSnOws “Apocalypse Hope” on the gallery.
From top to bottom, you can see the first floor, the second floor, and the basement.

Satoru: Once Watchette places the yoga mat, I start practicing to get focused for fishing.
While Watchette finishes furnishing the house and I’m fishing, we keep a constant eye on passers-by, especially looking out for young women.
W: Finding a spouse will be much harder this time around, since you’re not allowed to leave this neighborhood or visit community lots (Secret Agent/Diamond Agent restriction)
S: Gah, I’m at the complete mercy of walk-bys.  I did see the lovely Ulrike Faust and Jade Rosa go by, but I’m looking for a spouse to (1) have kids (2) max the Business/Management career.
Personally, I prefer to roll with an in-the-world sim, but haven’t met any young adults yet.
After perusing all the profiles provided by the Simverse Center of Genetic Excellence, I’ve decided that the best choice would be Summer Holiday. Now, if she would just walk by!
Hearing that Welcome Wagon music, I rush back home.

Some flirty old woman arrives bearing fruitcake (which I positively abhor), but I’m happy to finally meet Johnny Zest.
When two women walk by, I introduce myself to research their assets.
Carissa Krause (in the boots) is a stay-at-home mom with the Hot-headed, Self-assured, and Family-oriented traits.
Esmeralda Sexton (the blonde) is an entertainer with the Non-committal, Romantic, and Insider traits.
All three women—even the old biddy—are very flirty with me, which is weirdly awkward.
Excuse me, ladies, I’ll just keep looking. I’m really not that desperate yet.

Johnny and I go inside for a bit.
Johnny: Well, this is very quaint. When’s the rest of your stuff get here?
Satoru: You’re looking at it…
Johnny: But you have a concrete floor and walls, cheap furniture, and nothing to do for fun except read!
That Simverse Center for Genetic Excellence gave me a generous stipend for relocating.
How could they just abandon you to live so miserably as this?
Satoru: I think I might be building character.

This evening, I step out in front of the house to casually look for a spouse and am treated to the sight of herds of teenage girls roaming my street.
Two young women stop by, both very lovely and both very teenaged: Sofia Bjergsen and Morgan Fryres.
There in the distance, I can see Luna Villareal (my neighbor from the island) and Cassandra Goth strolling this way…also teens.
What’s with all the teenage girls hanging out on my street tonight?

This is pure torment!  It’s Monday and my marital prospects are not improving!
This morning, I meet only married women: Nancy Landgraab, Bella Goth, Moira Fyres, Mila Munch, and Eliza Pancake…
And no, I’m not exaggerating! Looking at my relationship panel, I realize that those first two women from yesterday—Karissa and Esmeralda—are also married.
Gimme a break!

I have a plan for meeting Summer Holiday, since I haven’t seen her or her roommates on my street all Sunday or today.
On my first day of work, I work hard most of the evening then—since I won’t be maxing my performance bar tonight anyway—switch to “Socialize with Co-Workers” for the last hour.
Normally, I would only be allowed to choose Normal or Work hard, but I have the Pro Slacker trait (Business/Management restriction).
When I get off work, a pop-up appears saying I met Summer at work.  Yaaay!

Tuesday morning, I wake up early and practice yoga to start my day.
Man, not being able to buy a shower or bath really blows (Writer/Journalist restriction).
I restore my hygiene by washing my hands five times and hope against hope that Summer will visit my neighborhood.
I’m off until Friday, giving me three whole days to make some headway with my household.
With my Family-Oriented trait, I don’t enjoy living alone!

Satoru: Oh hey, good morning, Summer! Fancy seeing you here!
Sorry, about my athletic outfit, I’d just been practicing yoga.
Summer: Oh, you look like you work out! I love that in a man since I have the active trait!
So, do you live around here, Satoru?
Satoru: Yeah, that's my house right behind you. Getting to know you, I learn that you have also have the Good, Outgoing, and Gregarious traits.
I bet you build Charisma really quickly and, since we can’t change aspirations (Musician restriction), I love your “Friend of with the World” aspiration! It’s so do-able!
How would you like to move in with me, quit your job for a week or so, then return to a career in Business Management?
I can’t think of anyone more perfect than you for my partner!
Summer: If you’re asking me to move in with you, hot stuff, the answer’s yes!

Summer: I hope you don’t think I’m being too forward, initiating all these romantic moves….
Satoru: I’m fine letting you drive. Besides, my Charisma is maxed but you're only at Level 1 right now, so smooch away!

Summer: Hey, Satoru, I hear you like brunettes! How do you like me as a brunette?
Satoru: Awww yeah, you’re like a graft!  I think you’re starting to grow on me!
Aaaaaaand, we are officially an item.
Mutual squeeing ensues.

Summer: Hey, sugar babe, you wanna take this upstairs?
Satoru: You have to ask?

Since Summer can’t take a pregnancy test (Journalist restriction), they “try” repeatedly.
The last time, Satoru heads her off just as she dashes into the bathroom.
Poor Satoru and Summer!  They both end up with the “Sore Back (from cheap bed)” moodlet.  :(
Well, it seems we can safely conclude that an heir is on the way!
Note: I'd never zoomed in on a pregnant sim throwing up before. Gross!

W: I’m amused to note that Satoru has the “Completely satisfied (from spectacular woohooing)” moodlet, whereas Summer only has the “Pleasantly satisfied (from good woohooing)” moodlet.
Actually, I’m checking all of Summer’s moodlets right now.
She’s still not aware she’s pregnant and she won't start the 36-hour pregnancy countdown until she knows.

Summer: Down in the basement, Satoru gives me a fertility massage in hopes of multiple births.
The sooner I can give birth to two or three babies and age them to children, the sooner I can start my new career.
Satoru: We’re not allowed to influence the gender of our babies. I’d really like to have a boy and a girl!
Summer, please give us twins! Even better, do a JudesSims and give us triplets!
W: I’d actually never had a household sim receive a fertility massage.
I see that Summer has a 9-hour “Fertility boost (from Fertility massage)” moodlet, which states “the blood is boiling from vitality and procreative energy.”
I wonder what the ideal timing for giving a fertility massage might be. Before, after, in between?

Since Summer’s blood is boiling with procreative energy, she and Satoru try for baby once more, for good luck.

Satoru: Early the next morning (Wed), Summer and I become best friends in the second-floor hallway.
Then, in quick succession, we become engaged and elope within that same cramped space.
We are an even better match than I’d imagined, since we share the Cheerful trait.
W: My apologies for the walls-down shot, but this small house makes taking screenshots really difficult.

Satoru: Around 9:30 p.m., when I join the sleeping Summer in bed, I finally remember to check her moodlets again.
She has the “Eating for two!” moodlet! This means that she’ll be giving birth no later than 9:30 pm in three days, on Saturday.
Isn't that right, Watchette?
W: That's right, math genius!

In the days leading up to her delivery, Summer with her baby bump raises her Charisma by chatting up all the passers-by, learns to fish, and improves her cooking skills, but discovers that pregnant sims cannot practice yoga.
As a result, she can't learn the Wellness skill unless the household gains a meditation stool.
With Summer unable to start a new career until the infants become children (because they cannot be bottle-fed), their household income becomes a concern.

Watchette’s Remarks:

The house looks like a prison because its walls are bare and the flooring is the el cheapo version.
As of Wednesday, our total funds amounted to $2,320.
I’m sure I squandered money unnecessarily on some parts of the house; plus, I couldn’t resist buying shelving to hold the surplus personal inventory as well as one yoga mat and a massage table.
I peek at @JudesSims Piaget Apocalypse house and her Gen1 house has colorful walls and nice flooring. Hmmmm.

After taking all the screenshots for this chapter, I make a separate file and try adding new wall and floor coverings.
It looks much nicer but our funds are greatly depleted. Let's see what we can afford on Sunday, when we can next enter Buy/Build mode.
This Apocalypse Challenge is an exercise in strategy and endurance.
We hope we can last. We’ll no doubt fail this first attempt.
Although it feels like every career restriction should be lifted "first," this challenge is still intensely fun, anyway.   ;D

Satoru and his fangirls xD I love seeing Summer with black hair, must try that some time. I think I've read somewhere that you can sort of influence the baby gender by the colour of the bassinet (blue/boy, pink/girl, yellow/neutral). Those athletics shorts are so tiny  ;)

Oooo! I love Summer and Satoru together!  Man... you're making me want to attempt an Apocalypse Challenge (as well as a Wonder Child Challenge XD)!  But-but I can't!  Anyway, lovely start and I love the house ^^

@Nettlejuice  Satoru ends up in his athletic outfit often because he just doesn't change after his two highest-frequency activities: yoga and fishing.
At the end of the chapter, I queued fishing for the couple and was surprised that they bopped across the street to fish without changing out of their sleepwear.
I'm having to change Satoru's outfit if I don't want him shirtless--he probably picked up the bad habit from his previous island life! (it's not me!)
And yes, I'm surprised how nice Summer looks as a brunette!
I googled your bassinet tip. I'm not sure how reliable it is but I'll change the bassinet colors when I can.

@Shewolf13   I was just thinking last night how brave you are for simultaneously tackling your self-created Family Reign Challenge and an Immortal Dynasty.
Not to be a bad influence or anything, but the Wonder Child Challenge only lasts 5 sim-weeks so it's a nice break from a longer challenge.   ;D
Don't love the house! I'm still torn between attempting a post-apocalyptic feel or simply opting for a comfortable interior.
Do you like micro-builds? I spent several days watching Youtube videos on micro-build (4x4, 6x6, and 8x8) houses. I'd like to try some of those strategies later.

@oshizu

... You really are a bad influence XD Then again, there are times I don't feel up to playing either of my "big files" but still want to play Sims.  I start too many files for fun and then don't do anything with them because I have no goal or anything.  lol, But I do like the house.  I find micro-builds fascinating, but haven't attempted any myself. Ehem... I may have to try a Wonder Child Challenge... dangit XD lol

Oh, yay! I was hoping you'd have something up. I like the house. It looks very functional, which is probably the most important thing in this challenge.

Good luck with the Apocalypse! I like the way you're writing this, letting us know which restriction is the reason for Satoru's actions. And I loved his response -- "I think I'm building character." Incidentally, I don't think the bassinet color has any influence. Not only that, but when my sims have had twin boys, the extra almost always arrives in a pink bassinet.

Nice!  Your screenshots look very nice!  I loved seeing Satoru again.  Hmm, gee.  Wonder why all those teenage girls were hanging around, eh?  Couldn't be the new hottie living on the street.  Oh hey Summer, nice to meet you while I just happen to be shirtless in my yoga outfit.  lol!  Looks like a fun (complicated) challenge.  I'd probably screw up instantly.

Nice seeing Zest.  I never saw him in my dynasty.  Even had Luke & Friends hang out outside of his house for a while, hunting for that last potential friend since Ali couldn't be the one.  He never showed up, and I never saw him around town.

@reggikko    Thanks! It's actually rather fun seeing how much can be packed into so few tiles. When my sims have more money, though, I want to build a second basement...

@MarianT     Thank you for reading! I'm trying to write in a way that readers won't need to know or constantly refer to the challenge rules.
And, lol, yes, I was thinking about the notion of "building character" because the tournament challenges and this challenge make realize how spoiled I am with all my tricks and objects!

@wfgodot   I could have sworn I'd removed the poses after the Wonder Child Challenge, but apparently not. I hope you get a good laugh at Don and Johnny's mischief in the next chapter.
When it started happening, I thought: "On no, wfgodot will be soooo disappointed!" Hahahahaha

Whaaa!? You Started Over?

Satoru: Sooooo, we had to start the challenge over, because Watchette…
Summer: Shhh, don’t say anything, Satoru. She might give up on this challenge and I’ve never been a Watched Sim in any of her games before!
W: Oh bother, let me explain what happened.
This morning, I was reading through the 200+ comments at the bottom of Pinstar’s Challenge Rules and noticed a post about Spa Day.
Basically, yoga and massage are banned until the Athlete/Bodybuilder career is maxed. This restriction isn’t listed in the Main Rules and I’d never noticed this post before.
Since I’d only played one week of the challenge, I decided to start over.

Buuutt I won’t repost a new Chapter 1 because Satoru is still with Summer and almost everything happens as described in Chapter 1.

What’s Changed
* The previous chapter ended on Day 4 (Wed); this update of a new game begins on Day 3 (Tue).
* No yoga or yoga mat for Inspired/Focused/Energized boosts; no massage table or massages of any kind.
* Summer will give birth two days earlier on Thursday, rather than Saturday.
* The house begins sparser to take advantage of Satoru’s Shrewd trait from the Fab Wealthy aspiration.
* Instead of the yoga mat and massage table, we purchased a chess set and wedding arch.
* Much less gathering in the wild; found items can’t be sold so they only clutter our inventory and increase our rent.
* In this restart, Johnny Zest had a red friendship bar with Satoru at first, because Satoru ignored JZ’s Welcome Wagon visit to make out with Summer on the roof, lol. Satoru made it up to him; they’re friends now.

Satoru: Is that all?
Pretty much.  Let’s start the new chapter!

Week 1/Day 3: Love Is in the Heir

Summer: It’s Tuesday morning and so much has happened since yesterday!
As you’ve already heard, I moved in with Satoru on late Sunday afternoon.
Monday around 8:30 pm, Watchette noticed that I popped a new pregnancy moodlet during my work shift.
This morning, I share the big news with Satoru. My handsome Mr. Family-Oriented looks very happy.

Summer: I’m still in the Culinary career, but I’ll be forced to quit for leaving work early when I go into labor Thursday evening.
Might as well work until the last minute since we need the cash. Right now, Satoru is tutoring me in Logic.
Satoru: To max the Business/Management career, Summer needs L10 Charisma and L8 Logic, but she has only L3 Charisma and zero Logic.
My plan is to help her max Logic before the baby's born.
Besides her career, two Logic mentors in da house would be really useful.
Summer: And did you notice I’ve changed my hairstyle and makeup?  It’s the same hairstyle as Ulrike!
My face is somewhat long and that other hairstyle made my forehead look really high.
W: Wow, a sim without the Mentally Talented trait takes forever to level!
Summer: I heard that!

Satoru: We’ve discovered that the chess table is a legit means of getting the Focused mood.
Watchette can’t decide whether using Wellness socials for mood boosts would be acceptable.
What do you think?

Satoru: Thursday evening, Summer goes into labor at work as predicted, leaving work early to give birth at home.
It doesn't matter that she can never re-join this career cuz she'll be switching to Business.
Summer: Awwww, we were really hoping for twins, but even one healthy baby is a wonderful thing, too!
Folks, we are proud to introduce our firstborn son, Katsuya.
W: Let’s call him by the nickname, “Kats,” which rhymes with the English word “cots” (kinda).

Summer: Satoru, I’d like to have another child. Do you want to try for baby?
Satoru: Yipyipyipyipyiiiiip!!!!! *does the little shivering movement with both fists clenched
W: What does that even mean? Whatever, I’d really like for you to have twins this time.
Two of the kids could work on adult careers (Journalist and Business Investor) and the third could max a teen career!

Satoru: I’ve been waiting for a chance to mentor Summer in Handiness, so I’m a little happy when our downstairs sink breaks.
Sadly, Summer levels very slowly. It’s no wonder—she doesn’t have a single reward or aspiration trait!
She has 1,000 aspirations points now, but can’t spend them (Pro Athlete restriction).

In the basement, there’s a wedding arch where the yoga mat used to be.
Even in such a cramped space, the couple succeed in renewing their vows.
By the way, these two share a bad habit—once they change into their sleepwear, they never change back into their everyday clothes again, except to go to work.
Also, no more yoga mat, so no more Satoru in his athletic outfit.  *hangs head in sorrow

Satoru: I’m off to change a dirty diaper!
W: Do you mind changing your clothes? I’d like to take a picture of you with Kats….
Satoru: I’ve been meaning to ask you, Watchette. Since Kats is the firstborn, does that make him the heir?
W: Pinstar says that there are no “heirs” or “spares” since each household member can lift one career restriction. Still, I prefer the idea of a continuous legacy related by blood.
S: So, how will you decide which child will move in a spouse and have children?
W: I dunno. The best-looking sim or most-skilled sim? Sound fair? Your thoughts?

Summer: It’s Friday night and two important things happen.
Around 11 pm, I get a pregnancy moodlet, informing me that I’m 24 hours away from the 2nd trimester (so the baby will be born late Monday?).
Later, Satoru comes home with a promotion to a Level 5 Line Cook.
Satoru: It's the first career promotion of this challenge so far.
I have max Charisma but I can’t “negotiate a bonus” since I can’t use the phone (eSport Gamer). This feels like one hard-earned promotion!
W: Well, we did figure out this afternoon that you can “admire art,” for a short-term Inspired boost. Is that only because you’re an Art Lover?
But yeah, this challenge is all about maxing careers in the most efficient sequence.

Satoru: Why is my photo so dark?
W: We’re not allowed to build outside the 8x8 grid, so no outdoor lamps…

Satoru: On my return home on Saturday night, I surprisingly get promoted again to Level 6 Culinary.
At this branching point, I of course choose the Chef career.
Summer’s not been feeling well today so she slept through Kats’ birthday notice while I was at work. I age him up as soon as I get home.
When I roll for traits, Katz gets Summer’s Good trait plus the Artistic Prodigy aspiration.
An aspiration cannot be changed until it’s completed (Musician restriction), so we’re lucky Kats has an easy aspiration first.
W: Kats is a real cutie-pie!
By the way, Kats spent only two days as an infant. Perhaps that extra day spent in the womb (when no pregnancy test is used) is subtracted from the infant stage.
That is, 4 + 2 days instead of 3 + 3 days.

Satoru: At last, the clock strikes midnight and Sunday arrives, allowing us to buy things for Kats and the unborn child!
New arrivals in the home include a creativity table, a science table, monkey bars, a computer with desk and chair, and I almost forgot…three single beds!
We are quite broke now.
W: But the mob will come take your every last penny right after you pay your bills Monday morning (Criminal Boss), so you only need enough to to pay your bills tomorrow.
And don’t forget you work tonight, so there’s that paycheck as well.

Summer: Ugh, the pregnancy and that awful bed are seriously killing my back, yet I forge on with leveling Logic.
Oh and have you checked out how much our second floor has changed?

Downstairs, Kats is making fast work of the Artistic Prodigy milestones, thanks to Satoru’s mentoring.
Satoru (with maxed Painting and Violin): Oddly, I can “Mentor” Kats in Creativity or Violin when Kats plays the violin, but can only “Encourage” him when he draws.
As you know, anyone can “Encourage” a child who’s drawing, but the Mentor social usually requires Level 10, in this case in Violin.

Summer: There’s the doorbell.  It’s Johnny Zest, who lives across the street.
I have Level 9 Logic but only Level 3 Charisma, so I’m going to waddle downstairs and kill two birds with one stone.
I can socialize with Johnny while spamming “Talk about Logic Puzzle” socials.
You know I’m leveling Logic first so I can mentor our kids, right?
Good morning, Johnny!  So nice of you to stop by!
And have I ever thanked you for agreeing to move your trailer to the smaller lot across the street so that Satoru and I can live in this Slipshod Mesquite lot?
W: Here’s a shot of the neighborhood. Johnny’s landscaping's been downsized a little so his trailer and yard could be relocated from a 40x30 lot to a 30x20 lot.

Summer: Perhaps due to all the hype about these two popular townies on the forum, Don Lothario comes a-knocking on our front door as well.
So I continued leveling Charisma and Logic with the two hearththrobs.
My husband? Nah, Satoru doesn’t mind. He realizes that those two ain’t got nothing on him!
All the while, Kats quietly draws pictures on the drawing table.

But as soon as Satoru leaves for work, Don and Johnny slip silently upstairs. Very suspicious! I decide to follow them and take a peek.
Oh my! After I get the two men back downstairs, I lock all the bedrooms for everyone but household members, thank you.

Satoru: Even without an Inspired mood, I work hard and finish my shift just a half tick away from my next promotion.
Kats can’t paint his fifth picture without reaching Level 8 Creativity, so I mentor him for a while.
You’ll notice that Watchette has exchanged our little dining set for island counters and stools.
They offer the benefit of a 1x1 footprint, since items larger than 1x1 cannot be moved or sold once placed in the house (BodyBuilder restriction).
W: I placed the computer facing backward, so only Summer can use it for her daily tasks after joining the Business career.

Satoru: It’s Monday morning and our beloved little C-student, Katsu, leaves for his first day of school.
I’d been worried all morning about our bills, since all we have left is $755. But the bills come to $573.
Whew! After we pay, the mob drops by for their take of…wait for it…$82.

Summer: I fall into a “Very Embarrassed” mood after I pee myself. And I already had a +1 Embarrassed mood from a “Performed poorly (From below average woohoo)” moodlet.
Watchette sends me to bed immediately to sleep off my embarrassment before it gets any worse, but I’m woken up by Satoru who decides he needs to hug me. Talk about poor timing.
Now I’m hiding in bed. Watchette sends Satoru off to paint something.
W: I was so shocked and panicked that Summer might die of mortification that I completely forgot to take any screenshots.

Summer: After school, Kats works on leveling Creativity.
Since I can’t mentor him in Violin, I go outside and spy Don Lothario sprinting by. I guess I’ll work on my Charisma.
W: You know, Summer, for an Outgoing, Gregarious sim, you sure level Charisma at a snail’s pace.
Summer: (ignores Watchette) Heeeey, Don. What’s going on?
Do you mind telling me what you and Johnny were doing in my son’s room the other day?
Don: Yeah, uh that, well, erm, Johnny and I were just, uh, we were just…
(Don takes a deep breath then speaks super fast) Johnny has a mole behind his right ear and he’s worried that it’s become malignant so he asked me to check it.
Summer: Oh, I see. And I can understand why he would ask you, Don, of all people, because you are so qualified to diagnose malignant skin growths.
Don: Oh, puhleeeze.
Summer: Hey, dude! Johnny lives by himself. Next time you two feel like playing doctor, go to his house.
(changes subject) Otherwise, howzit going, my handsome friend? You are looking fiiine as usual.
Don: Oh the same ole, same ole. (*brightens) Someone is going to write a dynasty story with me as the founder. Can you imagine? After all the sacrifices I've had to make for other sims' dynasties!
Summer: That’s awesome news, Don. You really deserve it. Just keep your paws off Johnny in our home, k?

In the evening, three events occur in rapid succession.
Kats completes Artistic Prodigy, I give birth to our beautiful daughter Erika Sanada, and Satoru gets promoted to Level 7 Pastry Chief.
I’m disappointed that I didn’t have twins, but Erika is very lovable and I can’t put off starting my career any longer. No more babies for me!
At last, Satoru gets home and starts cooking dinner!
My stomach’s been grumbling for several hours but we had no money left for cooking after the mob dropped by.
And my dearest Satoru comes home with not only a paycheck but also a promotion bonus!

Kats: Early Tuesday morning, I rush to make progress on the Whiz Kid aspiration, playing my third game of chess with Mom while Dad mentors me and Erika lies there looking adorable.
W: Sorry for the poorly-lit shots. For some reason, the house lights don’t come on.

Summer: On Wednesday morning, I bank on baby Erika’s birthday following the 4+2 pattern and find a job in Business. My first day of work is tomorrow, so I spend the morning on the daily task: filling out business reports.
And sure enough, we get the notification of Erika’s birthday late this evening, exactly 48 hours after her birth.
As a child, Erika has black hair like her father and blue eyes like me! I wonder if CAS considers me a blonde or a brunette.
Here are shots of both kids in CAS.

Satoru: With our limited resources, Summer and I do what we can to prepare her for her first day of work.
We renew our wedding vows but she’s unable to get into an Energized mood before work.
Let’s hope working hard is enough to get her to the top of her career in time!

Satoru: It’s rough being so poverty-stricken and lacking in resources in this dusty desert, after the lush abundance I enjoyed in my family home on the island.

Watchette’s Food for Thought:

Inspired Mood
As you no doubt notice, I am forgiving the use of animal hats; there’s no other way to get Inspired without violating some other restriction (no cloudgazing, no tea, no career rewards, no mood-aura paintings, no yoga/massage, etc.)
Regarding Wellness socials, I’ve decided to ban them along with yoga, massage, and meditation under the Bodybuilder restriction. *weeps

Rambunctious Scamp
Although this challenge’s creator recommends using Oasis Springs due to its desert ambience, none of the neighborhoods have a public space with a jungle gym.
If a child rolls Rambunctious Scamp, s/he will be stuck at Tier I unless we first complete Secret Agent/Diamond Agent career to lift the ban on visits to community lots and other sims’ homes.
Darn it. We should have moved in near the Goths!
* Edited to add: Thanks to @reggikko for letting me know that the Parched Prospect neighborhood (where The Roomies live) has a public jungle gym.

Townie Auto-Ageing Disabled
According to Pinstar, playing with auto-ageing of non-active households enable or disabled is up to each player.
I’ll have auto-ageing disabled initially but will enable it as my household ages. That way, I can move in various townies that I haven’t played yet. I’m thinking Yuki, Siobhan Fryre, and some others, but not right away.

Thank you for reading!  Hope you did not find my restart too confusing!

**blushes** I should have chapter one posted this weekend. It's been, um, interesting so far. Don has been very, very busy. ;)

The neighborhood where the Roomies live has a jungle gym. It's across the street from their house. Can you travel at all?

Don and Johnny? *fans self*

Sorry you had to restart but like you said if it was week 1 then it's OK. Like @reggikko said there is a jungle gym. I love Summer with that hair, and if it's not too much trouble how about a poll to decide the heir? Although we won't get to see Satoru in his athletic wear, his sleep wear isn't too bad  ;D Johnny and Don, omg!
