Lights in house not working?
« on: April 15, 2016, 12:06:19 PM »
Okay, so the lights aren’t working in my sims’ house anymore!!

The entirety of downstairs is in darkness as is the bedroom in the basement, whereas upstairs is lit and the basement bathroom is lit!

I've replaced the lights, changed the colour + intensity, turned them off + on again but nothing is happening - the lights that don't work only come on at night, does anyone know why?

I've done everything possible, even relocated the house, moved my sims out & back in again but I'm stumped and it's getting me really frustrated!

Any help would be awesome, thank you.

@fnlyzchry

When you say you've replaced the lights, did you replace them with the same type of light or try a different light etc?

The same and different!

I just tried moving the house into a different world but it's still doing the same thing. I'm about to rebuild the house from scratch and see how that goes, but I'm not too hopeful :-/

I think the clue is in "the lights that don't work only come on at night". There must be something that's causing the game to treat those rooms as outdoors. What you described is how outdoor lights work.

And welcome to the forum. :)

I'm not entirely sure how it would think they're outdoors! Each room has walls and has no way out being outdoors so it's all a bit weird.

Like I said in the previous ask, I'm remaking the house to see if it works and so far it's going well - might just use different lights to be safe!

Thank you :)

Sometimes if you have a portion of the basement that is missing a roof, like outside stairwell, then the lights won't work. Best bet is if you go through the build and check for ceilings/roof etc.
