Missing child sim, please help
« on: April 08, 2016, 11:50:10 PM »
Hi everyone!

I have a family in Sunset Valley in the Sims 3 where the son recently asked a girl to move in with him. Since I have the room, I brought her mother as well. Once the two were moved in, I was checking out the family tree, and I noticed that the mother had another daughter. However, she did not appear on the list of available sims to move in, and I can't find her anywhere. She hasn't been moved to another family or anything. I've tried the resetsim cheat, as well as resetsim * with no luck. Is there some other option available I haven't found yet?

I also have the NRaas/Overwatch mod installed. Anything in there that can help?

Also, I haven't got an older version to go to, as I'm stupid and I don't backup my game - something I'm going to do from now on, not that that helps me now, however, lol.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! I really appreciate it!

Thanks for making note of what you've tried, that is always helpful.

I've run into this before in one of my recent games where my lady Sim asked a man Sim to move in with her, and unknown to me, he had a daughter in his family tree, but no wife. So I had the man Sim call his daughter over, and used the add to family cheat, so I could have the daughter in the family.

This might help you?

Thank you for bringing that up! I forgot to mention in my original post that she appears in the family tree only. She doesn't appear in the relationship tab as someone my sim can contact. I can't call her or send her a letter or anything.

She might have moved out of town. The game sometimes does that.

@Lisa46 Oh, you know I didn't think of them moving out of town. As I play with story progression off to prevent that from happening. *Snicker*

If that's the case there may not be away to get her back. :(

Can a child sim move away on their own?

Hmm.. You know, I don't think so. But if the game moved her in with a family or whatnot, the game can move them out of town or whatever it feels like doing with them really.

I was recently playing with Story progression on and some Sims that my family was friends with moved away. I hadn't played in awhile before that. So I had completely forgotten that the game does that now and again if you have story progression on. So now I play with it off.
