Can't leave buy mode? *Fixed!!*

I recently reinstalled the Sims 3 the other day and made a new world. However, after going into buy mode then back into live mode, the loading wheel just goes on forever, and I am unable to do anything.


*Solution*

Mods were conflicting with each other.

If this happens to you, move your mods folder to the desktop and try running the game. If that helps, go through your mods one by one to see which one is conflicting with the game.

I'm not sure if there is one true fix for this problem. I've experienced this issue before.

In this topic, It's suggested to try pressing Fn+F5 to get to Edit town mode. From there you should be able to save the house and game as normal.

I tried the FN + F5 keys to get into edit town, doesn't work, and I also can't open the cheat box. Mine seems different to everyone else in that I don't need to wait for a few hours for this to happen, it just always happens. Also, before I try to go back to live mode, I can switch between buy and build modes, but both results in the endless loading when I change to live mode.

Have you tried any of the keyboard commands to get out of Build/Buy mode?

Open Close Live Mode Panel: [F1]
Show Buy Mode Panel: [F2]
Show Build Mode Panel: [F3]

If this isn't helping you can try getting out of game using Task manager. (Ctrl-Shift-Esc) Look for and Select Sims 3, right-click and end task.

Have you tried clearing game cache or a Factory Reset?

I have cleared cache, F1-3 don't work and I just did a factory reset now, and it did not work.

Hmm.. Okay. Shoot. I was hoping one of those would work. Have you tried creating a new game for testing purposes?

If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what else to try.

Crazy idea.. Have you tried a new game without your mods folder?  Move your Mods folder to the desktop for now, try running the game to see what happens.

If it works. It may be that one of your mods is conflicting with another or just isn't working correctly.
