I can't find memories helper in game option.
« on: March 27, 2016, 12:07:09 PM »
I'd like to save all kind of emotions as a memory but there's no memories helper in my game option.

There's only Autonomy(include disable this for selected sim), Traditional Social Menu, Fill Empty Homes, Auto age(played sims + unplayed ones) and Sim Lifespan. This is all I have. My game is up to date. How do I enable this?

Here is my game option screenshot.

It seems that EA/Maxis has taken this option out of the game with one of the last game updates if I'm correct.

Click the "Camera Options" icon at the bottom center of the screen (below PAUSE). There should be the "Screenshot Capture Manager" feature.
Is that what you're looking for?

From what I can tell the Screenshot Capture Manager may be a different feature than the original Memory Manager?

The Screenshot Manager seems to let you view your screenshots in-game. Oh wait... There's more. Click on a Screenshot and you've got a few options:

1. Enter a comment in the comment box.
2. Delete Screenshot.
3. Make a Happy Memory.

I think if memory serves right the original Memory Manager had more options than that. I'm not entirely sure on that as I've never really played with the Memories thing.

I really don't know. O_O; I found the screenshot capture manager on bottom. Yes I have and I got this pop up.

Still don't know what to do how I can save the sims' emotional situations as their memories.

Hmm..in game? where? what comment box? There's no comment box in screenshot manager.  I already deleted those 3 screenshots  in screenshot folder under The Sims 4 folder because those 3 shots are not belong to this household. Those ones were created by accident in other sim family.

When you are in-game, pause then look at the UI at the bottom middle of your screen. Click on a very small round icon and it opens out allowing you to click on the camera which will take you to your in-game screenshots folder. From there you can scroll through all screenshots you have taken, making them a memory for your sims to reminisce about and getting into the auto-tagged mood and I think it is there you can type a few words at the bottom of the screenshot.

I had trouble with this and it confused me too at first, you can still create emotional memories, EA have just changed how it is done, that's all. As Playalot said, click on the round icon at the bottom of the screen, it will open up three different icons to click on, go into screenshots from there, whatever mood your Sim is in at the time, it will become that kind of emotional memory. For example, if your Sim is Inspired, the screenshot you just captured and selected will become an Inspired memory.  :) Once done, you have to select another one of those icons to reminisce. Confusing I know but you get the hang of it after a while.  :)

Here's some photos of what I'm talking about - Although you do need to have some screenshots taken for this to actually work.

Screenshot Manager How-To

Look at the user interface down by the Play/Pause buttons in Live mode, and click on Camera Options:

Select the Screen Capture Manager button (looks like a photo) to view your in-game screenshots:

From here, you may see a lot of screenshots. I've selected one for example. As you can see in the photo, there is a comment box, a delete button and a Make Happy Memory button:

Click the Make Happy Memory Button and to make that photo a memory:

I tried to save the picture as a focused memory but it keeps trying to save as 'confident' one. Is there anyone know how to change this to Focused memory, please?  Also ,my kiddie girl's screenshot was saved as happy memory while she was in playful. Have no clue how to solve this.

I am not sure if there is away to change memory types after the screenshot has been taken.

Though I haven't had a chance to search this out yet.

Edited to Add:

Here's how to view a memory:

There isn't much information on the new way to make memories or edit them since they decided to change the way this feature works.

This is the old way, which does not work anymore. Some of these features have been taken away.

Make Memories to Create Emotions
http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,21833.0.html

All the options you have are:

Remove Memory
View Screenshot
Have Sim Reminisce on the Memory

It looks like if the screenshot gets tagged as a Happy Memory there isn't away to change it to a different memory type, that I see. Feel free to test this out for yourself. :)

Some of the emotions are just not available with this 'new' system and so will automatically be assigned the confident emotion. It is a right pain but for now, that is just how the game works.
