In game Pointer Problems *Fixed!!*
« on: March 26, 2016, 04:33:29 AM »
I have started a new game and am trying to refurnish one of the existing lots in Willow Creek. Trouble is when I'm in build mode my pointer is being fiddly and annoying, I find I have to click almost above the object I want to select and even then it doesn't always move to where I want it.  >:( I have also noticed the game is not letting me exit from the Manage Worlds screen. (Only Build or Live mode). This is frustrating as it's making it hard for me to build/furnish etc.  >:(

It's happening with any lot I choose or whether I am offline or online, I have disabled my lighting mod, no difference.

Also, I used the Fullscreen cheat before to minimize the window then switched back to a full screen but even after disabling cheats the game stills starts with the minimized window.  >:(

Any ideas on what may be causing these issues and what I can do about them? My game was working fine earlier this afternon without any of this nonsense.

Have you tried doing a Repair game on Sims 4?

Repair Game - You can repair packs and the base game separately. Right-click on whatever pack you want to and select Repair Game. Then go back to Base Game, and right-click on it and select Repair Game.

If this doesn't help, it may be a good idea to either contact EA's customer service (How-To) or ask about it over at AHQ as they may have some tips that will help.

I did repair the game then uninstalled and reinstalled it, neither helped much.  >:( But when I went into the Game Options and toggled the Fullscreen off then on again from there, it fixed the problem, weird.  :o

What's also weird is that I had a similar problem a long time ago and doing the same thing fixed that also. (I didn't remember this until after the issue was resolved).  :o

Glad I finally solved this, not being able to properly select anything with my mouse pointer was super annoying. (It had starting doing it in Live Mode too). :)

Thanks for replying though, I didn't know about the latter link.  :)
