@Playalot
Could you try growing it in a different save file? Your file sounds glitched.The growth cycle's supposed to be 48 hours--mine grew in two days.
If you just want the planter, you can clone the normal fruit you received.

@reggiko
What is a "flat square"?

@oshizu, it's one of the foundations that is a default room (found in the walls section of build mode). You can use it to save outdoor stuff like planters, etc, without building an actual room. I always put a fence around it, but I don't think you have to even do that.

@oshizu  I will have to but I loath playing other files once I've started a dynasty.  Ugh, sometimes this game drives me a little batty.

@CuriousSim I just did a test for you. I moved an empty garden planter into that pre-existing room, then moved one of the Growfruit trees into that planter.
I was able to save that room to my library.

Perhaps, there was an update or something?
Or maybe I don't have an update or something.
I made a room, big enough for a planter. The planter turned red, and I couldn't place it. I bought an empty planter, and it worked fine. I tried moving my grow plant, to the empty planter, and it didn't work. I tried moving the GF planter to several empty parts of my floorplan, and it didn't work. The empty planter had no problem being moved.

@CuriousSim maybe the roof height wasn't tall enough to allow for the height of the tree?

@reggikko  Thank you for explaining what you meant by "flat square." I didn't understand that you were referring to the foundation.  :)
                  I just saved an existing room in the basement because it's near the garden.

@Playalot  it's always the same, huh? Some things get fixed, but other things get broken.

@CuriousSim  What do you mean by the GF planter? My test room was about 3x10 tiles in area, but only because it was a pre-existing room.
                      I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you.  :(  If you didn't have the latest patch, you wouldn't have a growfruit....

There are a whole lot of growfruit trees in and around Magnolia Blossom and Desert Bloom Parks as well as the hidden areas in both parks, found a heap there today and I have yet to find the growfruit lady.

@Franki
There seems to be lots of variation in what's going on in people's games.
For example, Jasmine showed up soon after I arrived at the community gardens but a sim-week has passed and I haven't seen a single wild Growfruit tree yet in the Magnolia Blossom and Desert Bloom Parks. Haven't checked Sylvan Glade or Forgotten (Forbidden?) Grotto.

Yes, I don't have any wild grow-fruit trees at all in my game so something is definitely wrong... no fruit on the tree my sim grew and no wild ones anywhere! Hmm... might be time for a reinstall!

@Playalot
Everyone knows this by now but I'll mention it anyway.
I'd thought that Jasmine was handing out different quantities of fertilizer packs (specifically, Playalot's sim is really cute), but I've since realized a sim can keep asking until the "Ask for fertlizer" option gets blacked out.
Because Jasmine goes on about how there's not much she can hand out, I'd never noticed that the Ask for Fertilizer keeps displaying.
I'd been going to get one fertilizer pack at a time for days. doh

@oshizu oh! I didn't think to mention the fact that you could just keep asking... sorry! Kinda funny tho... usually it's me making the gaffs.  ;D

Is it possible the Jasmine is related to Summer?

For me, I have been finding wild glowfruit trees behind the Museum, Gym, Library picnic area in Willow. My friend does not find any in her game.  I have collected 78 growfruit from all the trees there.
I wonder if traits have anything to do with glowfruit trees showing up in areas after you spend enough time there?  For example, I have the Geek trait, Loves outdoors trait and my first Aspiration was Gardening where I got the collector trait.  My friend does not have the geek trait, but has the other two.  Does this make a difference?

I don't know if traits make a difference, I'd assumed it is just a random chance thing as to where or which wild plants became grow fruit.
