How to upgrade kitchen parts at work?

On sims 4 when my sim goes to work at hospital the coffee machine don't work. Do I have to upgrade my parts and if so how do I do the upgrades at work?

Welcome to the forum srpace1234 Your sim will need two things. 1. the upgrade parts in their personal inventory (order through a computer) 2. a certain level of handiness skill before the different upgrade choices become available. Carl's guide has all this info.

The coffee machine should work even if it not upgraded though. Is it the base game coffee pot or have you added the one from Get Together? If it's the one from Get Together then you need the coffee grinder as well or it won't be functional.
