About Dominate homework
« on: March 11, 2016, 04:04:27 PM »
Hello, Long time no see here.:) I was playing the sims 3 more than sims 4 but recently, I started to play sims 4. The one I'm wondered is about 'dominate homework'. I had two little boys in my game. I read many information about skills, careers, school things in guideline here while playing my household. I had a red haired boy and a blond haired one. When the red haired boy grew up to child, he went to school everyday and got B level student. After that, I stopped him to go to school for 2 weeks and his school record dropped down to C. And after that, I got another baby and I just grew him up to child straightaway. He has a blond hair and I asked the blond one to go to school everyday and asked the red one to sleep at home. :D

My red haired boy completed all the 3 kids aspiration done except for the kid wiz one. For completing the kid wiz one, I had to let him go back to school, so I just let him go school and get the homework to do in the afternoon. I noticed that my red haired boy has 'dominate homework'? and the other blond one just get 'do homework'.  Even though I didn't send the red haired boy to school for 2 weeks but he gets 'dominate homework' straightaway. I was very happy but don't know why because he was still on C level.  The one thing I can say is the red haired boy completed all 4 kids skill even though his school performance was only C.

A few days later, my red haired boy grew up to teen. His logic skill is now 5 skill point. Now he is going to high school everyday and he is A student but he still has this interaction,"Do Homework'. What's going on? I really have no clue about this.  Also, the blond boy is A student at the elementary school at the moment, but he never gets 'dominate homework' although his mental skill is completed. He still has 'do homework' only but he finishes his homework very quickly and get the confident emotion after homework.

Is there anyone knows when the kid can get 'dominate homework' interaction?

If I remember correctly, the "Dominate homework" interaction becomes available after he is "Help[ed] with homework] a certain number of times.
After some "Help with homework" by a young adult or adult , there's the "Breeze through homework" interaction and later the "Dominate homework."
Perhaps your redhead has been helped with homework but your blonde has not.

Teens don't get the Breeze through/Dominate homework interactions, I think.

Edited to add: I was surprised to read that your redhead completed all 4 skills, since Whiz Kid has a "Get an A in school" milestone.

Hi Summers,

High school teens get homework to do everyday even if they are an A student. You can probably get away with not doing it everyday just keep an eye on his grades as teens that complete high school with a A get to start all careers at L3.

Ahh alright. Yeah I agree about the teen sims. Actually, I was going to let him complete the Whiz Kid aspiration but he didn't because as I mentioned I didn't send him to school over 2 weeks. He was B class but dropped down to C class 2 weeks later. Also he got helped homework just once from his daddy sim.  I thought going to school is actually wasting time. So he didn't have to do his homework for 2 weeks. And on the 1st day he went back to school, I saw 'dominate homework' from his homework book and finished his homework for only 20-30 minutes sims time. That's why it was so confusing to me. Yeah lastly I sent him back to school to start the whiz kid aspiration but his performance bar was stuck on the C class with no reason. So I just grew him up to teen and let him start a high school life.  He completed only 2 kids aspiration, rambunctious scamp and artistic prodigy while he was a child but he completed 4 skills, creativity skill, motor skill, social skill and mental skill. Just before growing up to teen, he had level 1 at charisma, level 5 at piano, and level 4 at logic.

@Summers
Thanks for clarifying. I confused your "four skills" with "four aspirations."  Sorry!

Pam's guide on children explains in more detail, but a kid with an A in grade school starts high school with a B; a high schooler with an A grade starts their career at Level 3.
And what Playalot said about "once the kid gets an A."

Have fun!

Oh yes I think I missed that part in Palm's Guide. I read most of the information here. :D I knew the sims who graduated high school with A grade can head start from level 3 of each jobs but not sure it's working for Get to work Professions though. :D
