What if there is just one recipe you can't complete?  I'm finding it impossible to get my Sim angry.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

You can't repeat any recipes until you finish your angry recipe, sorry Joria.  You can still submit whatever recipes you have as score.

Cordonna Bleu FINALLY got ticked off enough to make that Flaming Angry Spaghetti!  Unfortunately, within a few hours her bar bubbled so her final score was 11,912.  I learned so much and it was fun.  Should have started sooner.  Now to see how Homeless I can be.

Gretchen Schnitzel retired with $23,639 worth of delicious meals. Upon retirement, she immediately joined Foodies Anonymous and vowed to only order takeout for the rest of her days. Unless of course we get a restaurant game pack, in which case I may have to pull her out of retirement...  ;)

Personally, I am excited to hear other player's strategies.  I didn't really have one.  I just wrote down every recipe and what ingredients they needed, if they needed one, and had my sim start cooking.  I was pretty sure marketable would effect price, so that was the second reward trait my sim got, after connections.  I wasn't sure if completing the master chef aspiration would make the meals worth more, but I put her in the culinary career and completed it anyway.  I had her go to granite falls pretty quickly in the challenge and probably stayed too long there.  I wasn't aware that those recipes were worth nothing at the time, and I am still pretty unfamiliar with the herbalism skill as a whole.  I got most of the seeds for planting from seed packets, and the rest was scattered around the cheap oasis springs lot neighborhood except for one, but I don't remember which plant that was.  The most difficult recipe for me was the pan-fried tilapia.  My sim started fishing in sylvan glade's waterfall mid way through level 4 fishing skill, and she had level 8 before she finally caught one.  So, that recipe was only prepared once.  I also didn't get to cook too many salmon recipes over, since it takes so long to catch fish, and you can't fish for a particular one really.  Fishing and gardening bums me out in sims 4 because I love both those skill in sims 3, and I don't like them at all in sims 4.  The only add on I had at the time is Outdoor Retreat, and I kind of felt that if those recipes had to be cooked, that the ones from spa day should of needed to be cooked as well.  Especially since those are actually worth something.  That is just my opinion though.  At the end, I was able to cook through the majority of the dishes 5 times, so it was always exciting when one ended up being more.  I am also curious as to if the worth of ingredients plant wise effect the price of the meal.  I thought maybe the sturgeon she caught would make really expensive fish and chips, but it didn't seem much different than the fish and chips made with perch, so I didn't think it mattered much.  Anyway, this was a fun challenge, and I really enjoyed participating.

So in my practice run, I decided that the best strategy to approach this challenge was to focus on gathering the ingredients first. I kept all my fish in fish tanks so that they were fresh, and had one of each necessary plant in my back yard. The locusts were a pain to find. I actually found that for me, Tilapia were more common at the Magnolia Promenade than the Sylvan Glade, so that saved time. The main issue was finding salmon. These took forever to catch, so I didn't end up making more than 2-3 renditions of each salmon dish. I also extensively tested the factors that go into making a yummy (and expensive) meal, which should interest you, @christinal3106 since you were curious about variables. Here's what I found:

1 - After you hit level 10 of any cooking skill, you are pretty much guaranteed to make the top value of that dish every time. Ex. when I maxed out gourmet cooking, my Baked Alaska was almost always the full $702, regardless of whether it was "Good" or "Excellent." The exception here is cupcakes, which are hit or miss, I'm not sure why.

2 - Finishing the cooking aspiration has no effect on the quality or price of your dishes. Your food never spoils, which is nice. But since we could put them in the household inventory to prevent spoiling, this wasn't a necessary achievement.

3 - From what I could tell, being in the cooking career didn't provide a boost either (except maybe in speed - I didn't think of that till now though, so I'm not sure). Even maxing the career didn't provide a boost in value, so I didn't even join this career during the actual run.

4 - Quality of ingredients does not affect the price of the meal (although I only used Average freshness and above for fish and Good quality and above for plants).

5 - At this point, I was desperately trying to figure out what I was missing. And then I looked through the aspiration rewards and wondered if Marketable would apply to food. And as it turns out, it does. But you still have to cook most dishes several times because the multiplier is random. By the end of the run, I was able to get most meals at 260% or above of their original value. The maximum multiplier I got was 299% with the Monte Cristo Sandwich.

Timeline-wise, I finished collecting all ingredients by the 2nd Monday, cooked one of each meal before aging to Adult, and then used the rest of the time cooking meals over and over again for maximum multiplier. I also got lots of aspiration rewards along the way, which cut down on the time it took to fill my sim's needs.

Thanks to @LenaLJ for the spreadsheet! I love spreadsheets, and this one was perfect - it really made the challenge easier to tackle. Towards the end, I added a column for maximum value (assuming a 299% multiplier) and subtracted my best value from the maximum to determine what was most profitable to spend time on, so this was extremely helpful.

And of course, congrats to @Nutella on another win! This was lots of fun. :)

@Minnie Mouse The tilapia in Magnolia Promenade will be very helpful information once I get Get to Work.  It is in the mail from Amazon now.  Also, good work figuring out the multiplier from the marketable trait.  I knew it would help, but I just don't have the ambition to research it to that depth.  Which is why wonderful players like you and nutella win these challenges.

@christinal3106 You got a fantastic score, and probably without putting in half the time that I did! Seriously, I'm a little jealous, because if I had just started my run without practicing, I probably would have missed the Marketable trait altogether and scored down in the $8000 range. To be honest, I spend far to much time on practice runs and then find myself rushing to finish my scoring run on time... But this was actually a very educational experience for me (the Sims can be educational, right?) - probably the most time that I've put into researching and working on a challenge. I guess it's the scientist in me that wants to learn and test every variable I can find.
