Delicate vs. Normal?

What is the difference between a "delicate" wash and a "normal" wash? (for the washing machine)

Well, I know on a regular machine in RL, the delicate cycle agitates more slowly, so I guess they were just trying to make it more realistic on the game. I honestly don't think in the game, there is too much difference, in my opinion anyway. :)

Maybe it's for Eco-Friendly sims?

I just switched my washing machine in France over to the delicate cycle to see what it does and I can't tell any difference yet.

Probably more easy on the bills?

Maybe, but I doubt it would be much.  The bills are based on the value of your lot and it would be really difficult to prove that the wash cycle had any true impact.  My current family doesn't have bills anyway.  :)

Neither does mine. Suffering from a mild form of ADD I keep forgetting to pay them half of the time and end up having my furniture snatched anyway!  :P (Or worse, not saving my game..)

Maybe it's got nothing to do with wash cycle at all. Maybe it's geared towards people who press the mouse with a normal amount of pressure vs. people who press very lightly.

This is just a guess, and I can't load up the game to check at the moment but, I seem to remember with the cheaper machines that sims get a thought bubble about the noise of them.  Would the delicate run slower and be quieter?  Probably wouldn't matter on the expensive machines.

They don't get the bubble about noise on the expensive ones, no matter which cycle is run.

I was wondering this today, and I've been wondering if it has an impact on the Fresh Clothing moodlet. During my game play today I swapped from Normal to Delicate several times to see if it made a difference. Now, I wasn't paying too close attention to it because I was finishing up my challenge game, but I did noticed that some of my sims had a higher rated moodlet than others, lowest was +15 and highest was +24. I was using the expensive washing machine, and my handy sim had upgraded it with the clean polymer injection (or whatever it's called). Maybe that makes a difference. I feel the need to go test it out now! lol

is one of the sims over-emotional?  that would explain the difference in the moodlet values

Hi Wevee, I can say with certainty that they didn't have that trait because it was a challenge file and over - emotional isn't allowed in challenges. I've played the same family again, but the highest moodlet value I could get for Fresh Clothing was +19 so I'm well and truly confused!

ClumsyMum, you must be referring to the Maximum Moodlets challenge - the tournament finale.  Obviously, Over-emotional isn't allowed there.  But it is allowed in most challenges.

For some reason I had it in my head that it wasn't allowed in any of the tourney challenges. I really must learn how to read properly!  :P
