Master Invention

Since I have installed Late Night, I can't complete the Master Invention. I have completed all the steps and where I should get a Build Master Invention bubble on the work bench, I don't... Anyone know why?

Have you done the Master Invention with this Sim before now?  Exactly what steps have you done?

You have to know that the opportunity can take a long time before popping up. I sometimes was waiting long for the gardening oppertunity (which occasionally didn't even show up at all) but eventually they will. Just keep inventing, building Floor Hyginator thingies and other mastery stuff and than you will one day get the oppertunity.

I have never done this with this sim. I got the call, brought the life fruit, heart shaped pink diamond, etc. they gave me the hat looking thing that is sitting in my inventory but when I click on the qork bench, I get nothing about the master invention. I know it's a Simbot. I would like to complete this part of my sims Invention life plan.....Help.

The hat looking thing is what you got at the Science Center when you took in the life fruit, heart shaped pink diamond, and the plutonium?  Is the option to make the Simbot grayed out or not there at all when you click the workbench?  Have you tried clicking on the item in the inventory?

This seems to be a current glitch with the latest EP/Patch (Late Night).  Many players are reporting the same kind of problem when it comes to doing the Simbot Opportunity.  Successful until the actual time to make the Simbot itself.  It looks like we need to wait on another patch that addresses this situation.

Unless I miss something here, I am quite sure that you have to click on 'Create Invention'. Unless it was 'Create mystery invention.' Isn't that a solution?

There are times that even if all the steps are complete and you have the item in your inventory, the option to create the simbot won't show up.  It isn't greyed out, its just not there.

I have been able to make it on 2 sims and not on 2 others.  As wildredchild said, this is a bug since Late Night/patched Ambitions came out.

I don't even get the option. I did see this all over the net when searching today... It does suck so hopefully they will get a patch out because Now my sim won't be able to complete this phase...

I don't get the option for the master invention too. I confirm that this is a common bug. It isn't a computer related problem like EA stuff tries to point that out in each support ticket of the people.
EA simply doesn't care. They even fixed this not in their recent patch (this month). 
I tested it and re-installed the game, applied all patches on a newest computer with windows 7 64 bit installed and run the game, created a new Sim, made him an inventor, waited the opportunity,
brought all requested materials in: piece of palladium, heart shape cut pink diamond, 10 life fruit. I got in the last step a life core, that's such a weird looking item in your Sims inventory.
I went to my Sims workbench, bought 1000 units of scrap to ensure an option should appear. NOTHING! No Simbot construction option there, just nothing. No grayed out option, nothing.
The option pie menu string should be: "Make mystery invention" in the main pie menu of your workbench. The option is missing. THIS IS A NEW BUG. I'm fed up with EA recent bugs, it's just annoying.

This is really disappointing news to me as my 4th generation Man Dynasty Sim is SuperMaxing invention. I guess if it falls flat on me as well (haven't gotten there yet) I'll simply have to give myself credit for the SuperMax and his Monster Maker LTW after I collect all of the necessary resources. Yuck. A very empty and hollow way to complete those requirements. But, I had to do the same thing to other players pursuing nectar making where some of those challenges are bugged.

Aphrodite just completed it (in generation 4 also) and she didn't have any issues.  Hopefully it won't affect the Man Dynasty.

That's good news, tj. It seems some of these nasty bugs are spotty — they affect some players/systems and not others. I've got my fingers and toes crossed. If I can't do it, then I'll have no choice but to have Crazy Man make a personal phone call to the head of EA Quality Control.

You will be alright I guess. I have supermaxed my overskilled sim already in inventing and while reaching the 'create 100 master inventions' the oppertunity will popup, eventually.
Just don't use mods (and I know you wont) and things will work out.

The opportunity popping up was never in question, Leto. That HAS already popped up for me. It's completing the opportunity that seems to be bugged for some players because there's no Simbot option under Big Inventions even if all resources are in inventory.
