Social Actions for Move In Option

In case it was of interest to anybody, I found that I'm only given the option to ask another Sim to move in when they perceive my Sim to be "sociable" and then it is located within the Friendly interaction context menu.  On account of this being the only method I ever use, I'm unaware of whether Sims can be moved in by any other means, although I'd imagine marriage would be a viable option.  I hope that's useful...?

You can also get that when it says 'Friendly' Marriage is another option and you can bring other Sims from their existing household into yours so say you married then that husband/wife could bring in children from an old relationship.

That's right - unfortunately I came upon such a revelation whilst attempting to win the heart of Molly French.  To say that I was disappointed to learn she was a mother, and one on the verge of becoming an Elder at that, would be the understatement of the century.  I wasn't aware that your Sim only had to be thought of as friendly - this doesn't appear to be the case for me.    

Important to stress for those who are experiencing difficulty with moving in other Sims that their predatory romantic pursuits are unnecessary though, I think.    Thanks for that, samoht04!

Right.  Asking a Sim to move in is always a friendly interaction.  It doesn't matter if they are a romantic interest or not.  You can move most anyone into your household if you're friendly enough.
