Exs can't get back together

My sim cheated on her boyfriend while in Egypt (sorry), and when she confessed they broke up. Ok no problem, after a while I let them be 'just friends'. However now no matter what I try, I can't get them back together! They are currently at best friend status, but the only romantic interaction I can get is 'ask to go skinny dipping', and even then they can't kiss or make out. Any ideas?

I am not sure why they aren't able to get back together. It may be a similar glitch to where Sims aren't able to marry after their spouse dies. Read about that here (Unable to marry after death)

It's been suggested to try moving towns to see if that helps, if not try using MasterController to reset their relationship.
