Too many traits!
« on: February 16, 2016, 04:30:34 PM »
I have noticed that in starting a new game, my sim has an extra trait. He started with the Master Chef aspiration so he has essence of flavor, but he also has gregarious.

Another sim that I met and brought into the house has ALL of the extra traits. Muser, gregarious, fast learner, and more.

I'll be starting a new file to attempt to fix this (a shame as I was enjoying this game). I tried repairing the game and that didn't fix it.

I never knew there was a gregarious trait.  Did you mean "Outgoing"?
Has there been a recent patch/update that I missed?
Or is your game bugged, causing your sims to be granted aspiration reward traits without having completed the aspirations.
Sorry, I'm no help at all.  What a curious dilemma!

It's the trait that is given upon starting a game while choosing a popularity aspiration. He shouldn't be able to have both but he does.

I've never encountered your situation, so I can offer no remedy.
I just wonder if you perhaps downloaded the two sims in question from the gallery.
Sometimes a sim uploaded to the gallery already has a lot of maxed skills and aspirations like those coming out of the Wonder Child Challenge.

If it's happening with a newly-created sim, though, I imagine your game must be bugged.
You will get a response from an experience player soon!   ;D

I hope you get to the root of your problem soon!

ETA: You're right. Gregarious comes from completing the Friend of the World aspiration. Outgoing is a regular, assignable trait.

Thanks. This is a sim I created. I'm not sure how to get those particular traits on the same sim. I don't know how it could be done.

Did you by any chance use the cas.fulleditmode while a different aspiration was chosen?

It sounds like you're bugged, although this is a new one that I've neither experienced nor seen on the official forums, so I have no advice as to cause or solutions. I didn't notice whether you are using mods or not. It could be a conflict if you are.

If this is a long running save, it could just be the inherent wonkiness that always tends to set in after a while. Unfortunately the engine can only handle a file up to a certain side, and once a game exceeds that, chaos can ensue. You can save the existing Sims that you want into your gallery, and import them into a fresh game. Unfortunately you lose some progress, but at least you get to continue their stories. Clearing your cache might also help.

Sorry that you're having issues, and that I don't have anything helpful to add. I hope that you find a solution.

Thank you. I hadn't seen this as a problem listed before and wanted to make sure that it was noted. I started a fresh game from a fresh install and am having no issues now.
