Charisma skill and Great Kisser reward trait
« on: February 13, 2016, 04:20:08 PM »
If a sim has already maxed Charisma, is there any point or benefit in purchasing the Great Kisser trait?

Would it make a sim more successful in romance, less likely to be rejected when proposing, stuff like that?

I haven't been purchasing Great Kisser unless a sim hasn't maxed Charisma, but I just want to make sure I'm not missing out on some perk I don't know about.  :)

I think it just makes the romance bar fill more with each kiss than with a sim who does not have the trait. I only ever buy it to max out charisma quickly.

@Playalot
Thank you for confirming that Great Kisser is not a must-have for a sim with maxed Charisma.
With L10 Charisma, my sims seem to do all right in the romance department. I just have to resist the temptation to propose on the first day, lol.
It's the only reason I can think of that two sims with full romance bars would reject a proposal...

If a sim has any negative moodlets, even under a stack of positive moodlets, they will reject a proposal. Particularly sad or angry but even an embarrassed moodlet will cause a rejection. It can be tricky if you are not controlling them both to see just what is going on.

If I read the tunings correctly, it should:

- Increase the effective charisma level by 3.
- Add 100 to the score of all kissing interactions; unless the sim has a pretty big penalty for his score (such as from being sabotaged), that should guarantee a success.
- Increase charisma gains for kissing interactions.

So, yeah, far less useful after maxing charisma, though it should still be useful in that kisses should almost never fail.

@DarkWalker   Thank you for looking at the coding (I' m not sure what the word "tunings' means)!
So, an ordinary sim with maxed Charisma may not benefit much from Great Kisser, but a sim pursuing the Serial Romantic trait would be a more effective romancer!
Great to know!

It's honestly over priced for its effect. I would recommend observer/super-friendly/beguiler (more or less in that order) first, because their effects are more generally useful.  I've experimented with Great Kisser, and it doesn't give much bang for a 3k point cost. Charisma boosting club perks are definitely worth the cost, though. They give a noticeable increase to skilling.

I would also amend one thing. Beguiler is situationally useful. I don't take it very often. Only on Sims that are going to complete serial romantic. Even that is less impactful once enchanted greeting unlocks, but an aspiration-hopping serial romantic will probably have the spare points for it.
