My sim is working on the Computer Whiz aspiration so I had to have him get a job in the Tech Guru career for that. While he was at work on his first day I got a message saying he swiped an object while at work.
When he got home I check the family inventory and he had a Been There, Watched That TV. So that was a extra $500 bonus after I sold it. :)

That's hilarious!  Makes swiping pennies at the fountain totally not worth it!

One of my sims has brought home a total of three slablets now from her job as a secret agent. It's awesome. Her brother-in-law is also a kleptomaniac, but seems to only swipe dirty dishes. Very odd.

Yea, $10 is still all I ever get from the fountain.

@FrancescaFiori  Does the brother-in-law work in the chief career by chance? Maybe the items you get are tied in with the career some way also.
Be interesting to test with other jobs and see what they get.

On my sims second day he swiped a Melacoo Element. It would've only sold for $15 but he needed it for his element collection so I didn't sell it.

He's actually in business. I just checked and he's also stolen two copies of the children's book "The Little Train That Couldn't," so I guess it's not just dirty dishes, but he's still way behind in stealing useful or profitable things. :)

@FrancescaFiori
May I ask what his Mischief level  is?

@grimsoul
The elements are a pain to collect so that's great your sim stole one he needed for his collection!

My sim has the kleptomaniac trait. He's coming home from work in tech guru almost every day with stuff he's swiped; 2 slablets and a computer so far! I've kept them all in inventory in case he needs to return them for some whim! Or gets in trouble

He has zero mischief skill!

@tjtemple I'd say it safe to sell them if you want or put them in your house and use them. I've played a klepto sim a lot sense it was added and even tho they will get a whim to swipe a item I've yet to have one get a whim to return something and I have a bunch of stolen items in the house. Everything from a rolls of toilet paper to computers. And I haven't had one get in trouble taking something from work or school.

It's quite brilliant - all he swiped at high school was books and dirty plates  ;D  Now he's working he's really gained some good klepto skills!  All the more fun now I hope he doesn't have to return it.

I did make him send back a book to see if he got any ++++ moodlets, but nothing seemed to happen!

Thanks @grimsoul; all now sold :D

I thought this one was strange.
I had my sim (Grimsoul Blackheart) at the park just letting him do whatever he wanted to. He got hungry and went over to the grill and fixed some chicken. After he ate a serving he got up and swiped the remaining chicken. So he basically stole his own food.  ???
I checked his inventory and he had the food and when hovering over it said it was stolen from the Blackheart household.
Wondering what would happen I clicked on the plate in his inventory and selected to return the stolen item. It then vanished and he got the +1 happiness buff for returning a stolen item and also had the energized buff from stealing it the first place.  8)
But he didn't have the food anymore even tho he returned it to himself.

Haha, I laughed so hard at your last post. I think you might need a drink.  ;)
Or maybe I'm the one who could use the drink.

That sounds good. Maybe we should both just have one. :)

The get the wonderful "embarrassed I got caught" for a few hours. I forget what it say exactly.

Was the item your Sim swiped in his inventory even thought he got caught? Or was it removed?
