@Indira Yes on both questions. With the klepto trait the love to swipe stuff on the own. And you can click on the item you want to swipe instead of clicking on the ground and them swiping something a random in the area like it was in The Sims 3.

Thanks grimsoul! I might give that trait a try. I wonder if there are traits that can affect it.

Klepto was a trait I almost always gave my Sims 3 founders etc.  That way they could steal the best cars and have a mansion in no time~~!  Not sure I'd want my bloodline club members stealing stuff but it is an intriguing thought.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

Not for your No Buy Mode Project, Joria?  Lol

As for using the klepto trait from what I've seen I don't really see it being a big game changer where it's tied in with the mischief skill. You have to work at getting that skill up before being able to take anything good. Starting off you can only get small decor items like a roll toilet paper and some candles. It takes awhile to get the mischief skill up high enough before you can start getting TVs, radios, couches, etc. Time better spent on woodworking and careers to get those items in my opinion.

@grimsoul  My comment is more about the klepto trait than the No Buy Mode Project so I've copied your comment from that thread to your Klept trait thread.  I understand that your comment above relates to the usefulness of Klepto for a No Buy Mode project, but I'd still like to add to the discussion and ask a question.   ;D

As you're a big fan and expert of the klepto trait, I guess you're already aware that a child can begin leveling Mischief after maxing the Social skill.
So it's possible to have max Mischief as a child.  My sim who maxed Mischief early on is now an elder, so I can't test my question myself but.....

My question is: At what age stage can a sim acquire the Klepto trait?

@oshizu It happens I didn't know about the child being able to get the mischief skill, so thinks for that; :)
I didn't know the answer to your question either so I went in a started a new game and when making a sim I could give the klepto trait to a child. I took them in the game and too the park and the child was able to swipe the toilet roll from the bathroom. :) So  you could have your child start stealing right away.

@grimsoul
Oh wow, you've already tested it!
Lmao, that is priceless!
I got a little confused about the toilet roll--I worried a bit whether my sims were less civilized than yours, grimsoul. (Do my sims use toilet paper?)

I'm going to start a Wonder Child Challenge soon and you already know one of his skills and traits already!  mwa hahaha
Thanks so much for testing! You're the best!

I've been playing a klepto ghost child my sim got from the wishing well. It's pretty funny the things kids swipe and how often he gets 'caught'. The funny thing is that if one of his parents are around when he gets 'caught' they auto teach him a life's lesson. I don't know if it's programmed that way or of just chance but it is really entertaining to watch.

LOL, I can see way it was confusing for a minute. I guess I should have read over what I typed better before posting. I didn't notice I left the word paper out.
That was just the only thing I could think of to easily test it out with. About the only thing a new sim with zero mischief skill can steal is a roll of toilet paper. :) But it must be good toilet paper sense it sells for $50. Must be 3 ply at least. :D
I was happy to test it. After you asked I was curious about it myself. And I was kind of surprised that it was available to a child. I was expecting it to be teen and over.
Sounds like it'll be interesting to see your Wonder Child.

I understood you were talking about a roll of toilet paper. I just got confused for a moment about whether sims use toilet paper or if it's just a decoration.
I must be really sleep-deprived.

*dies laughing over your remark about 3-ply toilet paper
You must be a connoisseur of fine toilet paper! (my neighbors will start worrying soon...I'm home alone, cackling)

So an adult who gets caught gets an Embarrassed moodlet but a kid gets an auto life lesson? That's pretty funny!

As if adults stop needing life lessons!  I wish Kleptos got an aspiration of their own...like Grilled Cheese!

I edited my first post again to add in that for skill items you can swipe musical instruments.
I just had my sim over at a friends house and was going to let him start on the piano skill and noticed there was a option to swipe the it. So I checked and violins, guitars and pianos are fair game to take. :)

@grimsoul    Awesome news!
Does your klepto sim have L10 Mischief at this point?   Just curious.

Yes he's Level 10 so I'm not sure at what level he was able to start taking the piano.

If you click on the Fountain of Gluteus Maximus that came with Romantic Garden Stuff Pack you can swipe simoleons. I've tried this a few times and so far I've only gotten $10 each time. So not really worth it unless there is a chance of getting a bigger pay off. Just have to keep trying and see what happens.
