Author Topic: Fridge is not available Fixed!! (Read 8292 times)

i have a problem with my sims last night. i can´t use the fridge AT ALL. it says that the fridge is not available. at first i thought there was an error with the fridge cc. i´ve deleted it and bought the EA fridge, but still the same. i´ve placed it on another place, the fridge is still unavailable. i´ve tried playing a new game, deleting my cc and cache, mods, repairing the game, uninstalling the game, you name it. nothing works. help me

also i´ve debug the fridge, still nothing! and nothing is blocking the fridge either!

Hi sunnytheslaya,

Remove any cc/mods that you have in your game and leave them all out while testing to see if the issues remain.

Shut down your computer completely. Start the computer again, then launch the game and see if that helps.

Sell your microwave because that can cause issues
Try traveling to another lot and back and see if that helps.
Test with other households in the world and see if the same thing occurs. If the problem isn't on other lots/with other households start a new save game file and test to see if the other households in the world are able to use the fridge.

Sorry to be only suggesting more 'testing' than anything else. One last thought is your lot set to residential? I'm wondering if it is that particular lot/house and if bulldozing the house and replacing it might help. If we can narrow down to where the bug is occurring then hopefully we can eliminate it.

Fingers crossed for you. Post back if none of the above help and I'll try to think of other things that might help.

Another thought:

Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. To do that, move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Start a new game and test to see if the issues are there. Exit the game and then add back the "options.ini" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders.

i´ve started a new game file and still like that

even with a furnished lot from EA

i´ve shutted down and restarted my laptop, still no use.
but haven´t tried travelling and bulldozing my lot, i´ll try that one.

Let me play catch up. To make sure I'm on the same page as you and @Playalot

Here's what you've tried:

1. Removed/Deleted mods folder
2. Deleted game cache and Origin cache
3. Repair Game
4. Uninstall/Reinstall of game.
5. Tried new game without anything in the tray folder.
6. Tried a few different households to see if everyone has the same Fridge is unavailable problem.

If none of the above work, it sounds like it maybe a new fridge bug. If this is the case you may have better luck posting this on the answers.ea.com Bug report forum.

@MrsFlynn I can't find anything like this reported anywhere. It must be something new. Let's hope bulldozing the lot helped... I can't quite see how it would knowing now that even resetting the saves folder didn't 'fix' it. $:-\$

@Playalot I'm thinking it is a new bug and that's why I suggested it may be best to report the bug to the Bug forum. At least then it could be known to EA and maybe something can be done about it, specially if it's a programming error or whatnot.

That sounds like a really serious bug and could be game-breaking. I hope your sims can still eat food. I found that you can still click on oven and cook food. Or use the cheat to change the hunger meter to full. Or eat fresh produce.

No, i can´t use the oven because apparently there´s no fridge so you can´t get the ingredients :/ therefore you can´t eat. it´s so annoying. but it´s solved now so i can cook again

guys, i can now use my fridge again

i don´t know what caused the problem, but i´m glad i can play again now.
after i shutted down my laptop and started my game again and play a new game on a different lot, i can use my fridge again.
apparently the problem is not the cc, because i use my cc to start the new game and the fridge works just fine.
