I never had any problem with Sims 3... Until today.
Before I load the pictures let me do a small back story. My sim graduated from University and I move her from one town to another, I never went off the game till around 3:30am (Yea, pretty late). When I went on again, this happened. I can still see my sim and all but she froze and time kept going but she couldn't move. My fault on the panel not showing so I'll give you a visual description. The panel was showing all the menu option, store, her wants and lifetime goals, etc. But beyond that, her needs, her FACE, and all the other stuff on the right side of the bar wasn't showing. I know some people have a problem with only the green photo frame, the sim is missing... well mines doesn't show. ALSO, the paparazzi sims still moved around and they're not glitchy or bugged.
So I thought that this was only my Uni Sims file that was bugging. So I went to her parents file which they're in another town and It's the same thing. But it's worse. I can't see them, I can't check the inside of their homes, I think they're basically gone. There recent trips was to France but they were never glitchy after that, only until she came back from University and left to different part of town. I can't upload any photos because they don't allow .jpg. But I got the description will help.
I can't really pin point the true problem because I binge play it for many hours... But is there something to help it?
