Adults with BFF's?
« on: November 14, 2010, 06:24:28 PM »
I'm seeing that lots of celebrities have the teen 'BFF' How does a sim get it, since it seems to not come up with any sim I'm controlling.

I have no idea but its something I've been wondering as well. I've had my teen sims get a wish to be BFF with someone.

How are you seeing it exactly?  Are you playing the celebrity and see it in the relationship panel?

If I am not mistaken, that's Li'l Bing and he starts the game as a teenager. Maybe that explains it.

The vampire named Elvira Slayer has two BFFs.  Morrigan Hemlock and William Fangmann.  She was the first family I played after LN was released.  I remember thinking it was odd, but never remembered to mention it on the forum.  I wasn't really sure how the whole BFF thing worked anyway.

BFF is a possible relationship with teens.  If they are good enough friends and have enough friendly interactions, you'll get the option to Ask to be BFF.  They sometimes get wishes to be BFF with someone, too.

Right now it definitely is not only a teen feature. I have moved a sim into the Art Central household in Bridgeport, and after playing them for a few days I noticed that some of the household members were bff with each other. I do not remember if they already were at that relationship level when I moved into the household (a few days before most of them turned elder, they started the game as ya/adult) or not though.

In one of my Bridgeport games, Matthew Hamming and Richie Stricker are BFF's as well.

Yep, I picked that same household and all 3 of them were BFFs right from the start.

Maybe if one makes a BFF in their teens, they have a non-deteriorating friendship once adult?

My sim in Bridgeport is BFF with her car and doesn't have that trait . This is a little odd !

I played the Angelista household and the mother and daughter were BFF's with each other.  Over time I didn't keep up their friendship and eventually they got a message saying, "Sorry, so and so hasn't spent much time with you lately and so they don't want to be BFF's with you anymore."

I didn't try to get their relationship back up to where it was so I have no idea if I would have gotten the option to return to BFF status.

I guess that last "F'" in "BFF" doesn't really mean "F" then, huh?

It is an option for teens once their relationship bar is around 60% full. So if you lose it once your sim is an adult you can't get it back. I also think you have to know all their traits as well, but I am not so sure about that part.
