What is up with these gnomes? Sims 3

Just.. really curious. It is like the magic Llama?
Does it move around or what?

If you're not watching the magic gnomes they will teleport around the property (generally at night when everyone is asleep, but also at night if sims are up as long as no one is in the room with them or paying them any attention). Usually into a room with a radio or tv, or where they can be the most annoying: like next to your sim's bed so they can't get out of bed in the morning. Its also not a good idea to have gnomes when you have done the "wire house for sound" upgrade on your stereo, as they will turn it on in the middle of the night and wake everyone up!

I sell the gnomes if they appear in my inventory everytime for this reason.  §1000 in the bank (which is why a gnome replacing a cheap gem or metal is awesome, and frustrating when it's a valuable gem or metal), and I don't have to deal with the creepiness, or them teleporting into the wrong spot.

Yeah, the 1K smackaroos really come in handy! Although I usually feel too guilty to sell them off immediately, so I usually wait until they've become the nuisance from the 9th level of Hades and then sell them forthwith!

The one from pets and the Vampire chickie are kinda cool though! And the caveman dude too! Although he's broken my stereo a time or 3 or 10 (I wonder whether that's because he was around before technology and electricity)

Certain gnomes come with certain EP's, but there is a base game gnome that also sells for 1K "Mysterious Mr Gnome" I think he's called?
