We've finally set up a graveyard for the non-immortal members of the dynasty in the Willow Creek park. It's rather small now. We'll have to expand eventually.

Here, from left to right, are Mitchell, J, and Zoe.

Ileana spent some time with Gavin.

She was understandably a little bitter as she went home to eat a serving of ambrosia in her empty bed.

In one day, Ryan maxed his first skill (Herbalism) and celebrated his adult birthday. He maxed gardening soon after.

Additionally, Nadia found out she was pregnant. Look at that teeny baby bump!

Sadly, Addyson wasn't part of the household for long before dying of old age in the middle of the night. Grim stayed awhile and made himself at home, though.

Nadia revealed her pregnancy to Ryan over breakfast. His response was one to remember.

Look who else is pregnant! Elsa Bjergsen! Miles seems to be interested in replacing J as pollinator. She looks thrilled.

Anyway, Nadia's belly continued to grow...

And grow some more...

Until it was time for a 4 am trip to the hospital!

Welcome the third heir, Leo Bern.

Wow, Ileana got that Mythical Guide opp for Snagglefluster on the night of her last promotion. That is some amaaaaazzzing luck, Watcher!
Everyone in her generation is gone now--that must hit hard!

But now she's a grandmother!
I'm so glad that Ryan picked Nadia. And how handy that she moves in with a good-looking brother who can pollinate!
It was just meant to be!

And I laughed over your remarks about the "Sleep 5 nights in a tent" goal.
I hate that goal intensely! I hate when they wake up early and the night doesn't count!
But Ryan seems to have everything under control. He's doing so well with all his requirements!

Welcome to the Bern household, little Leo!

@oshizu Thank you! This dynasty has been going very well so far, but it's still early in I suppose!

I was thinking about using Nadia's brother as a pollinator, but all of his offspring would be Leo's cousins, so there wouldn't be a lot of use for them other than keeping some extra people in the neighborhood, right? They could be used as good friends though!

So true about Leo's children all being relatives, darn it, but a nice idea about the friends, especially if Leo will be doing Social Butterfly, I guess.

Since City Living came out, I haven't been having any problems with my simverse depopulating.
Is there even any need to pollinate anymore, except to pass on great genes, I wonder?

Also, I agree that the male sims make the most horrid faces after the wife comes to "share the big news." The devs must think that's funny.

@oshizu Oh really? I haven't played my dynasty file in a while and honestly I'm not very far in, so I haven't really noticed. I hope you're right, though! I'll have to pay more attention.

Yay! Welcome to Leo!

Poor Elsa. She does not look happy about being pollinated. :/

Congrats on the birthday, Ryan! And nice work on your skills! Loved his reaction face to the pregnancy announcement! Priceless!

@Brisayshi
I just realized that I'm now playing a challenge where ageing is disabled for townies, still new townies are always popping up in my town.
Maybe @FrancescaFiori, who's been doing an immortal dynasty like you, can chime in about the need for pollination post-CityLiving?  Francesca, you've been summoned!

Oh, hello! Here I am! So, I am on the fence about this. City Living came out when Tallulah was a child and by the time she hit elder more than one of her good friends had been culled. Thaddeus had no problems because we did the one-time world repopulation thing and they were housed sims. Cressida's friends made it to her elder birthday just fine.
So, long story short, I think things are a lot better since City Living, but in a giant dynasty file pollination is still a good idea because with that many generations of sims continually generating you can still go over the cap. That's my two cents, anyway. :)

@oshizu @FrancescaFiori
Thanks you two! I'll keep it in mind. I always feel so guilty pollinating every viable female sim around  ::) But yeah, I think I'll keep it up to be safe.

Obligatory nooboo pics!

Leo's such a cutie!  ;D

On his day off, Ryan went out into San Myshuno with some friends to build his relationships stronger. Ileana came along, too. I had to get that poor woman out of the house. Ryan currently has six good friends, but of course we'll wait until he's actually about to eat ambrosia to make sure they're all alive and their relationships haven't degraded.

Things got pretty wild at the karaoke bar.

Oh, we also took Otto out into the city to meet a lady. His children wouldn't be potential spouse material because they would be Leo's cousins, but they would be a few more people out and about. He took a liking to Penny Pizzazz.

I just now finally bought the Dine Out pack, so I sent Otto and Penny out on a dinner date. Ileana came along as Otto's wingman.

Ryan has mastered logic. That's all three skills he needed! I can't remember if I've already mentioned it or not, but he's also completed the Freelance Botanist aspiration, giving him his two required aspirations. Right now he just has to keep those relationships up with this good friends, get two more promotions, and finish one piece of his museum collection: the wormhole generator. I'm not going for high worth in the museum. I'm moreso trying to have each section of the museum properly represent each heir. Ugh he just needs one more uncommon metal!!

Leo soon aged up to toddler. What a cutie!!

Toddler bedroom setup!

This will actually be my first time playing with toddlers, so wish me luck! So far, my thoughts are: They're cute, but a pain. Just like real toddlers!

Haha, Leo looks simply adorable in both of his shots!
I'm also super super excited when a nooboo ages up to a toddler, then the harsh reality of toddler training hits me.

Ryan continues to do really well!
Good luck with your first toddler!

Leo is a total cutie! Even sulking over his peas!

Nice work on the requirements, Ryan! Darn those uncommon metals. They're never around when you need them! I like your museum concept very much. Come on, wormhole generator!

I just realized I never entered Ileana's good friends into the beginning of the thread  :-[ I fixed it!

So my first toddler experience was messy, but overall not too bad! I do wish I took the time to practice raising a toddler on another game file before going to raise Leo, but things went pretty okay anyway.

Leo has the Charmer trait, and it fits him well. He's so cute!

He was spoiled by everyone in the household. I'm pretty sure everyone had a turn teaching and playing with him.

While Ryan was playing with Leo I noticed that I let him get a little chunky. Whoops! I blame all the food Ileana makes.

Ryan finally found that darned uncommon metal and finished his museum collection of inventions! We have a satellite dish, two cloning machines, the portal thing-a-ma-bob, two momentum conservers, two sim rays, and two lamps. I'll probably throw some more things in just for decoration purposes.

Leo aged up unexpectedly. Really it was right on time, but there's always so many birthdays happening that I fail to pay attention sometimes  ;D Sorry, Leo. But isn't he such a cutie? He picked up the Cheerful trait.

Around this time I felt like the house needed a refresher. Here's the new and improved dynasty house!

Leo still gets tons of attention as a child.

Here's a funny shot I caught of Leo trying and failing a mischievous interaction with Ryan  ;D Ryan does not appreciate being invited to fake parties.

Here's Leo and his first non-household friend, Theodore Longo! He's either Miles or Robbie's son, I can't remember which  :-[ There's a pair of female Longo twins and then there's our lovely Patel twins, and I can't remember who this poor child's parents are! I'll have to take a peek at the family tree. Enjoy this shot of Leo and Theodore taking selfies with an invisible phone.

As a less exciting note, Otto, Robbie, Miles, and Nadia all aged up to adult relatively close together. None of them got parties or cakes. Sorry, guys.  ::)

Ryan is currently at level 9 of the scientist career. We just need to shape up his relationships with a few of his friends and make sure they don't die on us. He should be aging up to elder relatively soon. He's nearly reached immortal status!

Leo has gotten an A in elementary school, and he has completed the Social Butterfly aspiration! Here he is again with his BFF Theodore Longo, who annoyingly enough did not count as a friend for the final stage of the Social Butterfly aspiration. Socializing is so tedious!

He's started picking up the charisma and mischief skills after mastering the social skill. He regularly harasses girls from school with hand buzzers and conspiracy theories, but he's just too charming for them to hold a grudge.

Leo is adored by everyone in the household, especially by Grandma Ileana. I got a cute shot of them hanging out in the kitchen before Leo had to go to school.

Ryan has finally been promoted to Extraterrestrial Explorer! He is officially ready for ambrosia once he ages up!

..............

What a beautiful picture.

Anyway, that leaves more father-son time for Ryan and Leo! I realized that these two weren't getting much chance to socialize.

Miles and Robbie are both handling pollination when they can. All I can do is hope that the children don't all end up with that yellow hair.

Look, a Saturday Family Eggs Benedict Breakfast!

Except for Robbie, who decided he couldn't wait to get out to the porch to grab a plate of eggs benedict. He just had to have leftover salmon from the fridge.

"Mom, you really need to start including your make-up in your sleepwear."

While wasting some time on the treadmill, Ryan aged up! It's ambrosia time!! Quick, before his friends start dying!

Ambrosia-eaters get hair dye privileges.

As expected, Ryan's good friends seemingly started dying off as soon as he aged up! RIP Morgan Fyres and Luna Villareal. But that's why I made sure he used his spare time before aging to make a few younger back-up friends.

Here's Ryan's museum section full of science inventions! Don't mind the crystals. They're not part of the collection, just decoration.  ;D

Second heir: Success!!

Yay! Congrats on the second immortal! Love the house remodel, too.
Had to laugh about all the cake-less birthdays. They do get tedious after awhile. I don't blame you one bit!
Leo's critique of his mother's sleepwear fashion cracked me up!
