Missing Icons On Game Launcher: *FIXED*

Hello, I have been playing Sims 3 for a while now and from the start i have been having this problem. I am using a MacBook Pro OSX. At the launcher where you click the play button on the bottom left there are circles of sims 3 expansion packs and stuff packs, everything if fine until i have 3 missing icons! There are usually 19 but i only have 16.

My Into The Future, Island Paradise and University life is not there! I thought maybe its not appearing because they are all partnered with Maxis but i'm still not so sure. I have University and Into The Future installed and i thought it might work anyways but it just crashed and there are no notes saying it has crashed. So i tried one by one but it still crashes. Then i uninstalled both and suddenly it worked!

 I don't know whats going on but it is really annoying i had this for over a year! and i thought i could update it and it could work but while its updating it appears then it disappeared once its done. It was there once for 2 days but something happened and it was gone.

UPDATE: (3/1/15)
I have tried using the CCleaner that MrsFlynn has suggested but it sadly did not work. I still have missing icons and whenever i have one of the games installed that does not have an icon it always crashes. Also the Super-Patcher will not work. Even if i try register 

FIXED:
Apparently all i had to do was update it to the latest patch but i had to do it manually instead of the Super Patch. Once I had the latest Patch it worked and it appeared!

I am not sure whats going on, but is the game getting enough access to your memory? You may have to purge your RAM. Make sure you are careful with that though. Do you have any custom content installed?

It sounds like you may be explaining two different problems? The launcher crashing and missing game icons.

Here's something that might help on the launcher crashing.

As for the missing icons. I'm not quite sure. I'll have to some searching on that.

Although, I remember when the launcher would mess up Hubby and I would just uninstall/reinstall the last expansion pack we had and it would fix most launcher issues. -- But the last time we had this issue was 2010-2012.

I don't know if it's as simple as uninstalling/reinstalling the expansions you are having problems with.

If you're willing to try, try this:

1. Manually uninstall the expansions you're having problems with.
2. Run Ccleaner and it's registry cleaner.

-- This helps clean up temporary files, internet cache files and other files that are left behind that are no longer being used.
3. Reinstall the expansions you're having problems with.

See if that helps the launcher show the icons that are missing.

Here are a few more tips that may help for the missing icon in launcher issue.

It's been suggested to try:

Tip #1: Register your games with Sims3.com --
On The Sims 3 Community, go to "My Page" at the top, and then on the left hand side underneath your picture and a little ways down it says "Register A Game" or something like that and then you type in the serial number and it adds it to your game launcher, etc. You also get some free downloads!

Tip #2: Check the Installation Path --
Origin and Steam installations go to different folders, but all disk installations are installed to this path by default:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 (and the expansions and stuff packs). Navigate to that folder and see if all your expansions and stuff packs are there.

Tip#3: Install the Superpatch --
