Can't go on the website/ forum

Hi,

Since December 30th I can't access the website and the forum via the internet at my home. I get the error message that the server timed out and on my phone it says it is a network error get_config.
I can access any other website in a normal way. I tried different browsers and different things (pc, ipad, phone), but non of them can access the website or the sims forum. The only way I can post this to you right now is via a proxy server. Somehow it works then. Also I can access the website/forum when I'm at my parent's house.

Resetting the router worked the first time, but the second time I got the same problem after a few minutes again. It's very weird. Is there anybody here that has had this problem? or does know what to do about it? Maybe it's a configurarion in the router that messes it up or an problem with my ip adress, I don't know. It's quite frustrating. I use this website quite a lot.

I really hope there is a way to fix this, I've never had this kind of problem before.

And now it stopped working again :-O I don't know what you did, but it helped at first. Now I got the same error message again. S there anything I can do myself to make sure it doesn't happen again?

It's related to Tapatalk but that shouldn't discourage you from using it. I'm trying to figure out why it catches you all who use that, but for now I've raised the threshold so that it should be far less likely to happen.

Thanks for the patience, I know it's frustrating. I'm glad when people come to me about this so that I can prevent it from affecting other users

Tapatalk causes some kind of weird problem, so I raised the threshold to be 12x what it was before in a given period before it thinks you're some kind of robot. It has to do with how the program asks for player avatars. So go to a few threads that have multiple pages and you could have this strike you, but now it really shouldn't happen unless you deliberately try to trip it. Regardless if someone is on tapatalk and has this happen there are numerous channels to reach me - facebook/twitter (a little slower on the latter) and my email is very easy to remember: [email protected]

@Carl Good to know. Since you raised the threshold it has happened to me once using tapatalk. All the other times were fine :-)

It stopped working for me again...  The same problem as MissZoef, on my desktop the guide and forum give the error, other websites don't, on tapatalk only this forum gives the error other forum's work. I only have this problem on my home internet.

I have been reading some completed stories on tapatalk, which had a lot of pages, so maybe that has to do with it?
